I mean I've done it before and I'm still not banned yet so I don't see the issue of handing out personal advice? This seems more like a you issue than a me issue. Not to mention that there are plenty of other people who have advised at the very least for using Daybreak since it emulates the official way of updating so well. So if you have an issue, take it up with them and not me.

Yeah, not banned yet. It's a completely unnecessary and pointless risk. Daybreak is a successor of choidujour, both of which were never intended to be used on a clean sysNAND. If, for some reason, you elect not to use emuMMC (or emuNAND) and want to use CFW with your sysNAND, you need to make sure that you never connect to Nintendo's servers, or your sysNAND backup will become useless for future online use.

It's unnecessary risk to use sysNAND with CFW and HB which is dumb considering that emuMMC and emuNAND exist for that reason. I can find no reason why anyone would promote putting their sysNAND at risk for no reason--which is what you are doing.

Yay thank you for sharing your opinion. Did I ask for it? No. Will I keep recommending the same advice? Yes. Is there anything you can do about it? I can assure you that paragraphs do nothing if they are only filled with opinions.

I mean, you can give reckless and stupid advice. I pointed it out because I saw it. I also told you the reasons why it was stupid. If you don't understand it then that's your loss. But at least, now, someone smarter than you who happens to look at this thread will be a little bit more informed.

That is really rich you think I'm giving reckless and stupid advice when basically half of my posts are in the Switch Noobs Paradise. Guess everyone that I've offered advice and given help got their console's bricked and regrets thanking me for helping them. You really are a true genius.

I don't know about your other posts. The advice here is stupid.

The advice you are giving here, is the kind of advice that sets up for a future banwave like we saw happen with the 3DS.

It's an unnecessary risk to taint sysNAND with traces of CFW and HB activity.

Yes yes yes, you are so right. Your opinion is infallible because it came from your mouth. Oh, where are my manners? Delete every post from here except yours because only yours are acceptable!

Reasoning has been provided. If you don't understand something, please ask.

The proof is in the pudding but the pudding appears to be missing.

Ridiculous. People have been using emuNAND and emuMMC for a long time now, for the express purpose of not using CFW or HB on sysNAND--that is why these alternatives were created. I am not saying anything new or controversial.

So you agree that your opinion remains an opinion. Glad we're in agreement.

Unnecessary means not need or essential.

Risk is using homebrew on sysNAND.

It may be small or worth the risk, in your opinion, but it is a fact.
Nope because you've provided no evidence on the risk. Therefore the burden of proof of the risk falls on you to which you replied" Ridiculous" implying that you lack the evidence and/or you're basing it solely off your opinion. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and bet on the latter.

You are disputing the fact that using CFW and HB carries a risk. That is literally the first thing that people need to know when modding their consoles.

But that comes from the assumption that you can get banned right? What if no one got banned then? Seems kind of silly to assume something that may have never happened.

Soooo.... here is a better question regardless on how you updated if you update to the latest and greatest firmware on SYSNAND is your 11.0.1 CFW will still work or it will not work. This is why I kind shyed away from using both firmware on one device on the banrisk. both my switches have dualboot but my sysnand on both my switches are still 9.1.0 and I use the switch lite for all my OFW needs.

But is dualboot really safe with the newer firmware since everything is still being shared on 1 SD card including your nintendo folder. ?

People get banned all the time, sometimes for obvious reasons and sometimes for reasons not disclosed. Nintendo has expressed their policy and penalties about using CFW and HB. The Switch uses logging and has been shown to get banned when those logs are wiped or are inconsistent with records Nintendo keeps on their server side. There is always risk when modding and using CFW. The mitigation is to try to be as safe as possible. Using Daybreak when you can use the official update method is an extra and unnecessary step which only adds more possibility to be detected via log investigation--which Nintendo hasn't updated... yet.

But is dualboot really safe with the newer firmware ?

I'm on 12.0 on sysNAND and 11.0.1 emuMMC. As far as everyone knows, these two systems are isolated and cannot see each other.

My emuMMC is CFW btw and sysNAND is for official use.

The Nintendo folder being used for emuMMC is usually stored in a separate subdirectory. It isn't shared with sysNAND.
