Hello everybody!
This has possibly been asked before, but decided to do it anyway.
Can somebody explain me, as simply as possible, what is the physical difference between the V1 and the V2 Switch? Why is it so hard to hack? Just curiosity, nothing else.

Thank you in advance!

I have a question regards changing from SX OS to Atmosphere if I may.

Im running SX OS on a OG console using a none SX dongle. I only have NSP’s and have never been online.

What I would like to know is if I follow the guide in this forum to change from SX to Atmos, do I need to wipe my SD card and start a fresh? How else does Atmos see the games otherwise if using the hidden partition in SX? Surely it’s not a simple case of adding the Atmos boot loader and deleting the SX one, is it??

Any help would be much appreciated.
It is really as simple as that. The most you might you have to do is use the migrate emuMMC option in Hekate so Atmosphere properly detects the partition. Also any games that you have installed through the SX OS menu via the Album will not work in Atmosphere and need to be reinstalled. If you installed them any other way such as with a title manager then you do not need to reinstall them.

Super noob needing help: haven’t been keeping my head in the game regarding CFW & updates so wonder if someone can give me a definitive here:

I have a (as far as I last checked) partially patched switch - what are the current hacks available, what it works with, what needs to be done etc?
What do you mean by "partially patched" Switch? It is either patched or not; there is no in-between.

There is technically no thing such as a "V1" or "V2" Switch. There are 3 types of consoles; unpatched Erista, patched Erista, and Mariko units. Unpatched Erista devices are vulnerable to Fusee Gelee which is the exploit that involves sending a payload via USB while the device is in RCM. Patched Erista are identical to unpatched Erista devices except that they are not vulnerable to Fusee Gelee but are susceptible to all other exploits that unpatched Erista are vulnerable to such as Deja Vu. Mariko units come in red boxes or the Switch Lite and are not only immune to Fusee Gelee but also other exploits like Deja Vu. The trade-off for non-Lite consoles is that they have a better battery life and more power.

You have to use Hekate since fusee_primary's only role is to boot Atmosphere so it is inferior to Hekate which can not only boot Atmosphere but also backup the eMMC.

Thanks, I’ve just updated my switch to 11.0.0 and updated SX OS to the latest version and Paper Mario now works so I think I’ll wait for now and see what happens with future updates of SX. I hardly use my switch so no major issue for now.

Can I do a nand backup without hekate?

Hello! I have a clean 11.0.1 on my Sysnand and cfw 11.0.1 on my emunand.
I downloaded all my games, ran them, and synced my save files on stock boot, then created a fresh emunand for cfw.
When booting into Atmosphere via hekate, all my games show as needing to be downloaded, which I don't want to do via a cfw boot for obvious reasons.
What can I do to remedy this?
Thanks

Edit: I attempted to add pictures behind a spoiler, but I lack privileges. I can DM screenshots is necessary .

Yes, they're all legitimate from my linked nintendo account.
They will launch just fine in Stock, and they're all updated to their latest update.
Then I know exactly what the issue is; the Nintendo folder that your emuMMC is using is not automatically carried over from sysMMC. A blank one is made for you by default. You now have 2 options; you can have the emummc.ini file point to the same Nintendo folder that your sysMMC uses or you can make a copy of your Nintendo folder, place it anywhere on your SD card, then have the emummc.ini file point to that new copy.

Another quick question as you seem very helpful and clued up

Sometimes when loading SX I get a purple screen, holding down power for a period of time shutting down the console and trying again fixes it. Should I be worried about this?

Many thanks in advance!

I routed it to the sysnand Nintendo to see if it worked and it did!
I'll clean up my card and keep those separate now.
Thank you much, Gigantamax Scorbunny ^^

So I just got a v1 switch unpatched, got through the hekate/Atomsphere/HBMenu, used choidujour to update to 11.0.1 and everything seems like it went okay. If I boot through emummc or sysnand, then go into HBMenu and try to run Goldleaf, it just crashes and goes right back to HBMenu. I've heard Goldleaf has weird issues sometimes, is there anything I'm doing wrong to get goldleaf to work?

Have you tried the "Goldleaf 0.9dev" version? Works great for me...11.0.1 CFW 17.1 AMS
