Hardware Broken joycon rail cable

While removing the Switch battery to fix it not powering up, I accidentally rip the cable of the right joycon rail. Is there any chance of fixing this or am I risking shorting the switch or something by trying to force it back together. Do you think I need to buy a new joycon rail?

I did this on my first teardown. Ended up buying new one from ebay. Ran me <$10.

Is this the right cable? Are there different versions depending on the switch model? I have a release day regular old switch.

The one with the shorter cable is the right side rail.
