Hello, I would like to know how to copy to an USB, all of my wii u games saves... When I go to setting>data management and then I click on a game, I can see :
the game (which is the one with the most GB), one file with my username named save, one named update and one named shared save data.
Which one have I to copy to my USB to save the game data ?

Thanks

The way the WiiU handles saves is its combined with the game, updates, and DLC. If you try to copy a save file over to a USB drive where the game is installed. It will overwrite everything with that game and just the save will be there. The best thing to do is copy the save file to the USB drive prior to installing the game. That way the save will stay intact and be on the drive.

Thanks for your answer, I will use savemii
No I want to back up all of the saves (all of my games, saves ,update and dlc are in one HDD but I would like to copy all of the saves of these games on an another USB)
I will use savemii but in addition I would like to copy the save so which thingsshould I copy to the USB ?:
Only save data ?
And as ryguy2010 said, by using this method, if I have to restore the save, I have to install the game first and after the save or the opposite ?

thanks

I used savemii to backup my saves as well as system config tool. I then use saviine to restore them. I know that app very well, but you must have a save on there afaik, and it can only do one save at a time. the system config tool version I have has a backup utility but no restore one (not sure why). savemii is supposed to be the easiest way. however, I don't know much about actually restoring everything. both savemii (possibly savemii mod, whatever the difference is) and system config tool can batch dump.

btw, saves don't appear to be encrypted, so restoring them with any of those programs works (interchangeable). however, some use the serial id to differentiate the files, like system config tool, or the title id, like saviine. you may have to look them up if you're restoring one save or something.

alright, I just checked. savemii mod uses content id (just like saviine and just how it would appear on the system). only system config tool uses the product code (not serial id, which is product code+company code's last two digits).

is an official tool made by nintendo. can't link to it, but it can do a lot of things to your system. it's dangerous though as messing with the wrong thing can brick the system.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
