Wishfull thinking.... Source code for Gateway 3ds (which seemed also to be the same team when you read the fbi article) was never made public.
but they were not being prosecuted before , they may just do it as a big fuck you to Nintendo depending on how things go
or it could get sold or leaked , remember where we got the 1st dev men cia installer from

Yes, I think fanboying over custom firmware that allows you to pirate is silly. I personally wouldn't care which one to use, as long as it works, and gives me free games, I'll of course use the free one.
But, I cannot help but laugh at the SX devs getting arrested. It's just funny to me. I'm quite sure you all know that Nintendo is going to have no mercy on these hackers.

Well... Seems more relevant now as the fbi article revealed that the TX team was also responsible (or at least very very close related) for the Gateway and Stargate.... So gateway = TX!!!

Yes, for existing stocks. After they were sold out, I don't think there will be more as the management controls the operation, and they will be in jail. No one pays the devs, they would have left and won't update anyway.

Atmosphere devs are working on Mariko right now so hopefully that won't take too long.
For the time being, there is really no need to be on the latest firmware anyway. You can stay behind by a few versions and still be able to play everything, so it will be a while until it gets to the point SX OS can't run the latest firmware required by some games.
Yeah, hopefully it will lead to an open source modchip. Maybe it will even lead to a software solution eventually. It's much easier for someone to look for a software exploit if they already have full access.

They got Gary and Max but SX core production and distribution are happening in China, where western / international law can't touch. The current interruption is in US only. Seller in China on Taobao are still selling NS+SX Core+Game ROMs as a package. There is a good chance the rest of team will just took over as long as there is money to be made.

I wouldn’t be too worried just yet. Their websites went down quite a few times this year. Nintendo will sure try to take down every seller. But then again they have a terrible history of stop piracy on their console. All of Nintendo’s system were hacked during most its lifespan.
