Greetings, I was a silent reader here at Gbatemp for years and I decided to register finally.
To my problem, I have a Hacked Switch with Reinx and I was playing Animal Crossing which I enjoyed a lot.
Yesterday I decided to buy a clean Switch so I can play the game online with friends, unfortunately you can't transfer your Save Data from Console to Console like the other games.
So to not completely lose all my time and effort I was thinking maybe to Back up my Save File on my hacked switch and transfer every Item and Bell over local player.
Since I bought the cartridge of ACNH it should be possible to get both games to the same update without any problem to transfer items via local play.
But I also want to keep my save file on my hacked switch.
What i was imagining looks kinda like this:
Hacked Switch --> Create backup Savefile --> Transfer everything via local player --> Restore backed up Save file again.
That way I could have a good base to start the game again on my Vanilla switch, while keeping everything on the hacked one.
I was reading thru some threads regarding back up and save files but from my understanding the game will restart from the beginning of the game once i try to restore my old save file.
My question now: 1. How should I create a Backup file on the hacked switch?
2. Best way to restore the backed up save file again without losing any data.
