Hacking USB Loader GX

Anyways, I have a 4TB My Passport which I use (bought ~march in EU). However identified as 2627 not 25E2. Vendor lists my drive as a WDBPKJ0040BBK-WESN.

Disk Config:
- 1. Partition FAT32 - 32KB Clusters (GUIFormat) ~1,4TB (Primary Partition)
- 2. Partiton NTFS - 32KB Clusters (Mini Partition Tool IIRC) - ~2,4TB (Primary Partition)
- 3. 400 MB un-allocated space at the end (I am not sure why I do this, but I do)
- Always use Y cable (Have not tested without)
- Always shut the console completely down (so disk spins down)

Other Config:
- PAL Wii black with GC-ports Console 4.3
- CIOS as per wii.guide/cIOS
- Emunand FULL for all games (Emunand based on console NAND) - Created in USBLoader GX
- Emunand on SD-card.
- All sources for files match Redump
- WiiBackupManager (keep all partitions) for all transfers

My experience:
- Some games will load to black screen the first time I try them
- They seem to work the next time
- I have only played two games from the drive multiple times/for an extended period of time (Anno Dawn of Discovery and Super Mario Galaxy) and they always load fine.
- As I have a lot of games, USBLoader takes a while to start... This might allow for further spin-up of the drive before I load a game
- I use USBLoader GX (1272 enhaned mod) for everything

Hi Billy, I have a similar post on reddit lol.

So apparently you have the same issue as me but with less games so you have less hassle, I wish I could leave it alone but the idea is to have the console up an ready to play everytime I feel like it, I don't want to boot it up thinking it could freeze every time I load a game.
I have USBLoader GX r1272 but I don't know about enhanced mod, what does that add?

So I just tried a few more and theres one game that freezed the console every time I load it, know I'm worried its going to keep happening with more games. EDIT: I tried loading it 3 times and every time the console froze BUT the 4th time loaded, I have no idea.

Some Code "clean out" and a Workaround for Cheat Code Downloads from geckocodes.org.
When @blackb0x made this Modification,the regular USBLoader GX did not work with Cheat Code download from geckocodes.org,because of a DDoS Protection (and Cyan was "unvailable" at this Time).

Was it the same game? In case, which games do you experience with this? And from what region?

EDIT: Also, up until now I have only had the problem on first load of a game, never a following load... So it's fine for me I guess.

EDIT 2: I just tried 5 random games I had't tested - without the Y-cable. They all started fine (Across 3 reboots)... Now I do shut the console completely down when I quit, not to standby.. That might be a factor?.. IIRC I have only had this problem twice: Gottlieb Pinball Classics (PAL) and I believe Korinpara (PAL)..

EDIT 3: Some stuff I would test:
- Shut completely down
- Wait some seconds (10+) before launching a game

My wii is dying

I didn't use it for at least a year, and last week I powered it again.
I got a lot of "file system is corrupted" when trying to launch a game, or load/save savegame, or access the settings, or the data management, or even when clicking on a channel on system menu (when I expect the big animated banner to display, it just fade out to black screen with an error).

So, either there's a real system error, and I might be able to restore an old bootmii dump from 10 years ago (I did it only once...).
either it's a NAND failing, and having more bad blocks than bootmii original NAND dump, I'm not even sure I'd be able to restore it. it can be an issue if there are more bad blocks than dump time, right?

Reinstalling sysmenu, or IOS or using modmii would not fix the problem as they don't contain any custom individual files stores in other folders (like message board, miis database, sysconf, etc.)

For now, I found out that some game could be played using emuNAND, which tells me it's not my HDD or my game, and really a NAND access issue.

I can get another Wii, but I'd better keep mine which had bootmii@boot2, and modchip (even if not used anymore). and just because it's mine since launch day

i am new to wii modding and installed usb loader gx, rom hacks and cios working fine. Usb loader GX Plays every other game i have perfectly though. I have tried setting the video mode to ntsc, changing the game ios to 250, and turning off NAND emulation. I dont know how to do a syscheck but i installed hbc around 3 weeks ago following wii.guide and complete softnod guide thanks for the help.

Only just dance 2020. I play other games likebrawl and newer often with no issues. I cannot do a SysCheck for a little while as i cant use the wii right now

No ntsc on PAL i also have relevant Priiloader hacks enabled and play a ntsc copy of newer so its not the issue

The Priiloader Hacks have no Effect to USBLoader GX.

Please try in the InGame Settings - Game Load:

Video Mode - Force NTSC
480p Pixel Fix Patch - OFF
Sneek Video Patch - OFF
VIDTV Patch - OFF
Aspect Ratio - System Default
Game Language - English
Patch Country Strings - OFF

Thank you i already had some of these on but i will try later. My cios was done with d2x and wii.guide and the rest is stock because my bootmii backup had no bad blocks so thanks

Actually this is something I didn't think about untill today, I usually shut down the console completely when I go to sleep. I turn of the power supply like I was unpluging the Wii from the socket. I don't know if that is a factor. The game that loaded on the 4th time was CSI Fatal Conspiracy, today I tried George of the Jungle and: froze in the morning, turned completely off the console and tried again in the afternoon, froze again but I retried right there and it worked, turned of the console for a while, tried again and froze again, only to work again after retrying one time. I wonder if it has anything to do with some games loading in 480i and some in 480p, its the only thing that I can think of.

All the games that I have are NTSC, the console is the red model with GC ports.
