Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the Wii Hacking Game, and I'm having some pretty serious problems.

I hacked the Wii the other day using an SD card. It went smooth and GameCube games work fine.

I downloaded the d2x cIOS installer and installed it using the official tutorial. It all seemed to go well. I have 3 games (Wii Party, New SMB Wii, and Mario Galaxy) loaded onto a separate flash drive which I plugged into the bottom USB port.

The games show up, but won't load. It just stays on a black screen in both USB Loader GX and WiiFlow.

I'm more than happy to supply any screenshots you need. I've tried searching online but nothing seems to be working.

It's WBFS. I've tried all 3 and none of them are working, but I did get all 3 off the same site.

Do you have a certain site you recommend?

Hello.:)

Welcome to GBAtemp and the Wii Section.

Which USBLoader GX / WiiFlow Version did you use please ?
USBLoader GX:
Please look in the Settings/Global Setings -> Loader Settings - which IOS is entered for
Loader IOS (should be 58 you can also try 249)
and
Game IOS (should be 249)

You said, you followed the Guide then your cIOS Setup should be like this please

IOS249[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Your Flashdrive is connected to Port 0 ?
index.jpg

and formatted with FAT32 ?
Did you used the WiiBackup Manager for the Game Transfer from the PC to the Flashdrive ?
Your Games/ISOs are ok and not "corrupted/bad Downloads ?
Did you checked them with Checksum Tools like this online
http://onlinemd5.com/
or with an Tool like this:
http://esrg.sourceforge.net/utils_win_up/md5sum/
and compared the Checksum with this Site please:
https://www.gametdb.com/Wii/Search

please check this Points and try your Games.
And be so kind and give us an Update please.:)

Good Luck and
Thank you.:)

P.S. If all these "Suggestions" did not help you, then your Flashdrive is maybe not compatible (this is not unusual) and you should maybe try an HDD (with Power Adapter please).:)

@alexander1970
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll go through your questions one by one!

1.USB Loader GX Version 3.0r1272
WiiFlow Version 5.4.6

2.Loader IOS: 58
Game IOS: 249

3. That looks correct comparing it to my SysCheck

4. Yes, connected to Port 0

5 Yes, formatted with Fat32.

6. Yes, Used Wii Backup Manager for all 3

7. They don't seem to be corrupted, but I'm downloading them again from a different website just in case.

8. The Checksum shows this for Wii Party.

Sorry, I'm not sure what it means :(

I got it. It turned out to be my Flash Drive. When I load the games onto the SD card, WiiFlow reads them perfectly.

Does anyone know why a few of my games will not load on USB LoaderGX on my homebrew Wii console,
The screen flickers as if its going to load but stays black screen. most of my other wbfs games work fine run from teh same USB stick,
its just a few games that stop at the black screen, is there a quick fix i can try even if I only have t do it when i wnat to play these games.
thank you

Games: Price is Right Decades TPIRDecades [SRVE41]
and Pyramid [SP3E41]

My wii console is a PAL machine, and the above games are US, I have tried to ,load the games with several loaders including: WiiFlow USB LoaderGX and Gecko(forcing region) but blakc screen sticks and I have to remove the power cable from the machine and re-start it to get back to main screen.
I have been trying for weeks to get these to work but no luck, if I load the wbfs files on my computer with Dolphin Emulator, they work find
which seems to indicate the wbfs files are working and not corrupt.
my system is using IOS 249 to load games.

How do i find out what IOS the game need to load correctly

the game in question is: The price is right Decades, the other two versions of the game work fine

I don't know what we are suggesting there nowadays but there are some good ones

would it tell me what IOS the game needs to function

if i knew what the IOS was needed, is could load that one in manager and see if it works

are there a set of comman IOS's as well as IOS 249

I also have the original disc, and it still does the same thing, not work when I force the region for the disc from US to PAL using Gecko,

i still get a black screen in ether LoaderGX or Flow

if i load the wbfs file on my computer with dolphin, it works on there

but not on the wii

another game with same effect is one called : Pyramid

both of these are US games

Are you a wii master with knowhow that can help me with this one ??? im stuck at a dead end on this one. keep it as simple as you can, and provide a link if i need anything additional like WAD's. Cheers

Hello

The problem is perhaps your usb key. Not enough power, lack of power, most usb keys often give a ===> black screen or won't start <===, I myself have tried different usb keys, and this is caused by failures.

Prefer an external hard drive in fat 32 and everything will be fine.
if you wish, you can post a syscheck report, by following this guide ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/
