So I used Jack Sorrell's Python 3 Steelhax exploit, and everything except BlargSNES is running smoothly. :) I have the latest version, and everything but the sound is running well. Example: I load a SNES game, and the sound has no lag, except the screen is gray. :( I know someone posted a thread about this, but I'm hoping there might be a fix now. I might be able to use my knowledge of Programming to try to get it to work, but I've never compiled for the xDS. Any suggestions? :) I have Steelhax, and it starts up nearly every time without issue. I tried Snes9x for the Old 2DS, but that has a yellow bottom screen, and fails to start. Thanks for any help guys. :) I truly appreciate it. :D

Most people will probably tell you just to install CFW rather than relying on Steelhax if you are serious about running emulators.

Anyway, I haven't tried this myself, but you might be able to get around the yellow screen problem by creating a file named Snes9x_3ds.xml in the same folder as Snes9x_3ds.3dsx. The file should contain the single line
Code:
<targets selectable="true"></targets>

Next time you try to start Snes9x, you'll be asked to select a target app to "take over". It seems it is popular to have the Youtube app on your 3DS for this purpose. (You can try another game installed on your 3DS, but I've never been quite clear on exactly what this does and you might risk losing your save data.)

Hey there. :) I appreciate your response. :D I did what you said, and everything seems fine... Up to the point where I select the YouTube app, and on the bottom screen, it says: "Initializing... Unable to initialize 3DS CSND service. Unable to initialize CSND." I wonder... :\ Thanks for all your help so far. :) I feel as if we're one step closer! :D What does CSND stand for...? :\

I'm sure someone's addressed this problem before and it's just a matter of Googling. Of course, there's a lot of outdated information out there and like I said, most people have probably moved on to CFW.

It might just be a matter of selecting the right target, but like I said, you have to be careful with that. Make sure you back up your save data with JKSM first.

Dumping your DSP with https://github.com/Cruel/DspDump/releases might do it, but I kind of doubt it.

https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Ninjhax actually says Ninjhax is supposed to have CSND access; this is the first I've heard of one *hax entrypoint being different from another. If you have one of the games that provides an alternative entrypoint as discussed in https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Exploits , you can use steelhax to get access to one of those. That page is a little out of date, but OoT3d, Sticker Star, SwapDoodle, and Pokemon ORAS are good candidates.

http://wololo.net/2015/02/25/an-introduction-to-running-homebrews-on-your-3ds/ says something about the New3DS having problems with CSND, but that doesn't apply to you.

Why are you bumping a two-year-old thread? More importantly, what didn't work for you? What are you trying to do? What is happening when you try it?

And most importantly of all, what aren't you just installing CFW as documented in http://3ds.guide instead of working with *hax?
