Larian Studios is excited to announce that the eagerly anticipated gameplay reveal of Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming next week to PAX East! On February 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT, Larian Creative Director Swen Vincke will be live on stage with a very special guest to reveal more about the game's story and mechanics. The show will offer seating for 1,000 people, and those in attendance can take part in a live Q&A with the developers, but don’t worry if you can’t make it in person - the action will also be streamed on YouTube.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced at E3 last year, and since then Larian has grown to nearly 350 people. The studio continues working on new technology to create a truly next-generation RPG, spanning over 100 hours of content with all the depth you’d expect, and many surprises along the way that even fans of the critically acclaimed Divinity Original Sin 2 won’t expect.

You are burdened with a great power devouring you from within.
How far down the path of darkness will you let it take you?
The fate of Faerûn is on your party’s shoulders.
Will you carry it to salvation, or descend with it to hell?

Tune in on Thursday, February 27, at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT to discover what Larian has been up to and what direction the studio is heading.

I wonder what that set towards the end of the video is for? Is it just for shooting the trailer/promo stuff, or somehow related to the design process of the game or artwork? If it's the latter, I expect a GDC talk!

Should I start with the older games or this one when it releases? Does every game in this franchise heavily rely on others?

I said it in the initial announcement post 8 months ago, but Larian is one of the few companies I can still get mildly optimistic for. With so many indie companies releasing their one and done, none of them really can have a track record for good games, and Larian has released two masterwork games.

Here's hoping for a third. I'm never going to preorder, but I may as well get a little excited.

Really enjoyed Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 1+2 on ps2 back then, but its a complete
different genre compared to the pc games (hack n slash vs tactical rpg).

I´m interested to see actual gameplay footage.

Odd timing. I just beat Dark Alliance for the PS2 yesterday. At first when I played it I was taken aback by the camera perspective. But it's more than tolerable once you get used to it.
