You have an earphone? insert it in your PC's mic in and it should work.
For recording: Start Menu>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

This may sound crazy, which is what I thought when I first heard somebody suggest this, but it actually works. An earbud will work as a microphone. Although, not a very good one.
