i use pkhex and i modify pokemon to use/trade online. Me being the nice guy giving away tons of JAP/KOR Ditto with 6 perfect IV for breeding with destiny knot. Been a week since I've started doing this. Punishment might be in waves so until then, wait until bans are being spread around

Would you give me one 6iv for breeding? Ive been farming for hours with no luck and im starting to go crazy
I would not trade hacked mons over as that was a great way to get banned on the 3DS and they go even harder on the bans on Switch. Especially since Pokemon is one of their biggest franchises you can be pretty sure that if they can ban people they are going to. Pokemon Sun/Moon was when they first started banning people after all. Legit mons are fine as they have no way of knowing they come from a pirated copy AFAIK.
What's the fun in it if you cheat?

This is all new territory for Pokemon, and Nintendo for the matter, but I can't imagine they would go any further than not allowing you to use the genned Pokemon online.

It's generally safer to catch a pokemon and then mod it for stats in pokehex.
If you download someone else's, as long as there isn't any data which conflicts (caught in the wrong place, hatched at the wrong level, came from the wrong game, moves they can't learn, same ID as others traded online, etc) they're legit/legit enough. Just be sure to reroll their IDs when cloning them in pokehex. Personally, If I have the same game, I'll generally give them my trainer name/id/secret id/gender as well with the previous person's stuff as the previous trainer name/gender. Works out fine as long as you pay attention to the details. I'm wary of those that say they're from previous games, but that's probably me just being overly cautious.
Even more safe to use cheat codes so all wild pokemon are shiny/perf IVs, as they are completely legit as far as the game is concerned.
I'll try and give away some dittos after this semester is over, to help out. Takes a bit of work, though. Trade from hacked to legit, then from legit to other legits, requires a lot of pokeballs on my legit account.

Thats why I never understood the need of encounter cheats the pkmn would be illegal the moment it spawns. Unless they just want to catch specific pokemon for breeding
