Titleid is not a factor to consider. Then PC saves would not work in other games. I think they should be the same because they should include infos from both versions of game.
The reason I said you probably can't use the data due to the event flags in the games, and the way the gym leaders are setup, you can probably transfer the save but your game would probably be incorrect since you are using data from Sword.
Maybe only save is locking content on other game, so if we will transfer Sword save to Shield, we would get Sword content on Shield?

He probably be better off just playing from scratch due to different event flag, and different gym leaders since 4th and 6th gym are different in each game. I know you can use the save from one game to the other, but it is never a good idea if it flags are different than what the game want.
