Hacking Question Brand New To The Scene, Few Questions Please

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. So I have an unpatched Switch and i'm just getting into the scene with it, just have a few questions before I begin if anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

Equipment needed, Am I missing anything
-256 SD Card, want to do lots on it (games, emulations etc) so figured get biggest one so i don't have to have multiple SD cards.
Which one should I get the Sandisk 256gb U1 or for an extra 4 dollars the Samsung Evo 256gb U3, I understand U3 means faster but is it worth the extra 4 bucks?

-SD Card Reader

-Joy Con Jig, this section scares me a bit because obviously I don't want to mess it up, I heard people use paper clips for it, but would I just be better off getting a switch jig off amazon?

-Rankie USB-C to USB-A 3.0 Cable

Specific Questions About Switch Hacking
Am I able to play it in dock mode on CFW?
Will any controller work to use the switch? I have pro, joy cons, gamecube etc
What happens when I power off my switch, I've heard some issues having to do a special reboot of it again, not quite sure what that means.
When I go to play any game, I should go into airplane mode or turn off the wifi to avoid getting banned?

Specific Answers About Switch Hacking
1. You can play in docked with Nintendo games and some homebrew
2. Yep
3. If you have Auto RCM on just put the switch in sleep, however if you aren't using Auto RCM powering off will be fine
4. Use Incognito mode (RCM) so you can play online

For $4 go for the U3. The switch might not fully use it but if you are copying games to it from PC, with the right card reader it will make a difference.
A joy-con jig is worth it, prevents damage. Once modded you can turn on Auto-RCM if you want, read about that and how it works.
Yes you can play CFW in dock mode.
Any compatible controller should work fine. Never seem GameCube controllers used on the switch.
You can power off the switch but on power on you will need to inject the payload again otherwise you would be just running OFW and the installed software wont launch.
You can set the DNS to 90DNS to block the switch from contacting Nintendo.

Hey thanks so much for your lengthy reply I greatly appreciate it. Sorry about the noob question but What do you mean by inject payload again when I power off the switch, what set up does that require?

Oh I see so if I have RCM on that means whenever I unsleep the switch it will automatically boot into the CFW however if I don't have RCM on I can safely turn off the switch however I will need to use the jig process again to get into CFW?

Is the switch okay being put on sleep mode 24/7

Okay so RCM mode is a type of recovery. This recovery mode allows you to inject a payload. A payload is in a .bin format and is used to start CFW or start a chain loader (Something used to choose between other payloads

RCM with Jig: Jig needs to be put into switch and payload needs to be pushed. Using this method you can turn of the switch with no battery drain
Auto RCM: The only thing that needs to be done is a payload to be pushed to the switch. Using this, battery drain will happen when powered off, however, Having the switch on sleep is just fine drains battery much slower then powering off (with auto RCM on)

Yep (only if using auto rcm)

Easiest rcm jig is a piece of foil folded over the 9 and 10 pin, I've seen no damage from it. U3 is definitely worth it.

Yeah I think it's much safer just to keep it on sleep mode then it is inserting the jig every single time when powered off and potentially causing damage down the road, long as my switch doesn't get hurt with it being left on sleep mode all the time besides slight battery drain then I see no reason otherwise to power it off .

+ when it crashes it goes back to CFW, and you can reboot to Hekate and there ya have it, technically if you dont run out of battery, youll never need the jig again.
