Yes. I just re-did it to make sure saving settings as I went through. It still works from the Wii menu, but opening through USB Loader GX causes error 107031.
Hello. :)

I do not think that was intended.
That worked never for me too.
I always use the RiiConnect Channels (News/Weather/Vote/Nintendo/Luck and Mail) from the Wii Menu.:)

I got informed that it simply won't work through a loader. It's ok, just an little irritating to have to exit the loader to run it.

Hi, dumb question, but I'm having trouble getting the loader to display a game title how I want. I wanted to add colons ":" to the Special Editions of Just Dance 3 and 4 (e.g. Just Dance 3: Special Edition), and while I've been able to get one working fine, the other doesn't display properly in the loader. The colon shows if I press 2 to bring up more info, but otherwise in the list the colon won't show.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Unfortunately, I am having a hard time to see the difference once in game. I'll try other games...
the option for game is disabled by default. you need to enable it globally in settings > loader's settings > 480p fix patch
if you have a game which doesn't launch at all (like Prince of persia) you can disable that patch individually in each game settings.

but otherwise in the list the colon won't show.
are you using Wiitdb.xml ?
if you have it and enabled that feature, all the names will (should) be used from that file.
you can edit the xml manually if you want to see the : displayed in your title.
if it's already there, and it doesn't display in the loader then I don't know why.

if you don't use wiitdb, I recommend you do.
if you really want to name your games yourself instead of relying on the xml, you need to edit the title while inside the loader. (settings > GUI > game window : rotating disc) then select a game, and click on the title at the top of the rotating disc.
note that this renaming method always seems buggy to me.

Is there a current version which supports the download of geckocodes (ocarina) ? I read that there was an older version that uses another network lib, but I'd like to use the current one.
No.
This has nothing to do with the Version.
geckocodes.org uses an DDosS protection which prevents the USBLoader from download Codes directly.:)
I tried adding cookies to bypass the DDos protection, but then he is right, the website redirects to SSL connection, which is not supported anymore.
When I added it (r1253) the loader had lot of stability issues, so I removed SSL support later.

If you try r1253, it'll not work either, because the URL is still the old one (http) and the https is redirected automatically using javascript which is not supported by the loader. the loader accept 302 Redirect HTTP command, but not javascript.

no promise here but I'd like to try SSL again in a future version. if I can make a stable version it'll be useful for cheatcode, and nintendont (even if there's no more updates, it's always nice to be able to grab it from the loader, right?)

No problem on that geckocodes.org thing. There are things that nobody can change,we have to accept this.It has to be NOT your lifetime Achievement.:)

blackb0x told me he tried to add SSL back as a test, but it failed to connect to geckocodes anyway, while working fine on github.
apparently something related to TLS or maybe a protocol the Wii is not compatible with? so I guess it's just out of reach?
maybe it'll not be that useful to add ssl back just for nintendont, which doesn't have new version released everyday like 2 years ago.

Blackb0x told me using internet archive website could be a good compromise. it works over HTTP even if it might not have latest and updated cheats, the console is still old enough to get older cheats.
it'll be updated randomly and with delay, if users want latest version of the txt file they can grab it on the website manually.
so, it might be the only compromised solution to keep that feature in the loader if ssl is not possible.

Wow, I'd seen the rotating disc view in pictures, but didn't know how to enable it as an option. I always assumed it was a depreciated feature from an older version of the app. Thanks for telling me about it. I do use and edit the game details file however it didn't seem to work this time unfortunately. Your alternative method did though, so thanks.

I've tested the 1272 over the past few days. and have deleted all files from previous 1271.

Using 1272 480 fix boot.dol, I have extreme slow 15-18 seconds start booting a game.

After deleting the files again, I use 1272 "no_fix boot.dol" extreme slow 15-18 seconds booting a game.

I have tried a half dozen games with each boot.dol for 1272 and get the same result. I reverted back to 1271 and every game I have tried boots up 3-4 seconds as normal. Is this a known problem using IOS58 you are working on?

I am using USB for everything. 2TB WD My Passport. No SD inserted.

So the 1272 update is more of a problem, not improvement? The 480 thing is really a futile point! Gaming experience is not increased by pixels or a $3000.00 television set.
First of all, the 480p fix has nothing to do with your issue.
You can try to switch back to the 249 ios in the loader settings.
Anyway, if your hdd works well with r1271 and you are not interested in the 480p fix, you can keep using that version as there aren't any other improvements you can benefit from updating to r1272.

Thank you for the Explanation that this has nothing to do with the IOS thing.:yaywii:
Any idea what causes this ? Except do not using USB Sticks & Flash Drives of course.

Thank you.:)

That is my point! Read the script Joe! I already switched back to 249. I Had A Question about IOs58? Did you not READ what was posted, or are you being a jerk?

No need to be rude.
r1272 is working fine for me and I have the 249 ios set in the loader settings. Maybe it adds a couple of seconds to the boot of the loader due to ios reloading, but nothing else. Games load as fast as before for me.

No bud. I'm not being rude. You interrupted a casual thread with a off base reply. Read your pompous post.

Make It Clear!!! I Am Using A "HDD" 2TB WD. ---- NOT Flash Drive or Pen Drive you boys like to call them these days!

Go Back to 249 is not the answer!!! Why would IOS58 be implemented if it wasn't the HIGHLIGHT of this release?

I know there are language barriers this forum has not overcome. However, I read most post as they are intended.

1272 is not a problem for me and I'm using a 2TB USB drive as well. And the 480 thing is hardly futile. Makes a big difference on my $200 32" Samsung. As he said, the 480 thing has nothing whatsoever to do with your issues.

Tip: If you don't want a "language barrier" to cause further problems here, then I'd advise not using UPPER CASE in your replies.
