i have a custom collection of Rick And Morty on UMD ISOs, so I thought I'd ask.
You might be able to, with a plugin, called Ultimate VSH Menu.i have a custom collection of Rick And Morty on UMD ISOs, so I thought I'd ask.
im curious if anyone was able to test to see if this method workedYou might be able to, with a plugin, called Ultimate VSH Menu.
The movies ISO mount is possible on the PSP with that plugin, and the plugin was coded for the PSP. The plugin as a whole also reportedly works with Adrenaline. Whether this specific function works or broken, I don't really know.
Fun fact: The plugin was made by theflow, back he went by total_noob
That's what we call preservation.UMD Video discs do not work in Adrenaline. The only disc I still care about watching is Silent Hill Experience and that's on YT. I don't know if there are any tools for ripping UMD Video to standard video files. You might be better off finding what you want on the internet and just copying them to your Vita.
i'm big into preservation but why'd you want a worse version of a probably already archived movie/show?That's what we call preservation.
No reason, except that it existed and deserves archival, even if just for "How did this technology even function?", because it's something I will always be curious about.i'm big into preservation but why'd you want a worse version of a probably already archived movie/show?
Wait, how old is UMD? and they have rick and morty of it? Kinda cool.
Kinda not sure it it works that way. I don't even remember a regular psp with cfw playing a video iso. Maybe possible to extract the video files from the disc and use the video player in the xmb to play. But I never tried. All PSP UMD game or video data are contained in a PMF file. I only ever extracted it to inspect and try converting it to modern format to work on common media players.
I wouldn't know anything about making UMD videos. Since retail pc lacking disc drives and the ones I remember wouldn't fit small disc that look like the size of gamecube games. I only know how to extract the video and audio files from umd, to play them in more common video player formats. I managed to do it with my Final Fantasy VII advent children. There were Video UMDs for PSP, similar to Video DVDs. CFW PSPs could mount the ISOs through VSH but Vita can't. You couldn't put them in the ISO folder and play them, they were something else. There are tools out there for creating Video UMDs from standard video files, and that's how there are R&M Video UMDs.

I been aware of this and never claimed to have done so. I only claimed to extract video from umd disc iso. Nothing more,UMD Video ISOs are not the same as DVD Video ISOs, they're a different format. You can't play either one in Adrenaline.
