Hacking Question "Unable to start software. Return to the HOME menu and try again" for only one game. Help, Please?

Please help im going crazy!

Hey, so I've had this game on my system for a while and have played it a bunch I was able to play it last week and haven't done anything to my switch since then. Today when I pick it up I try and open it but my switch just says "Unable to start software. Return to the HOME menu and try again" so I worried and think everything is gonna be like that but nope the rest of my game both legit and pirated run and play fine just this game. (IDK if it matters but the game in question is YS VIII) So I think maybe I just need to reinstall the game so I do this but it doesn't work. I update my gold leaf to the most current ver. but don't see any changes.

I'm running Kosmos/atmosphere on 7.01. I don't believe this is the cause as I was able to play the game for a bit after I upgraded.

So far I've deleted and reinstalled it, delete it and installed it on the system not sd, Delete and downloaded it once while connected to wifi and once on airplane mode, Deleted my save and game from the system than reinstalled the game,

Nothing has worked please geniuses of the switch help me out I really wanna finish this game.

I'm out of ideas for what to do any help would be much appreciated.

Might not be the reason why it won't boot, but do you have the latest update for the game? Latest is: Ys VIII Lacrimosa of DANA [UPD][01007f200b0c0800][v262144].nsp
Besides this, only thing I would guess is a bad nsp file for the base game. Redownload from another source maybe?

Use Tinfoil from BlaWar (formerly DZ) and go to Installed > Move your selection to YS VIII, press Y to view info, X to view Application Record, then press A on each application record to delete it. You won't see anything change when you press A but when you're done, press B and you'll notice the game is no longer listed. Exit TinFoil and make sure the game no longer shows on your home screen or in data management. Once it appears to be gone, re-install it. This will be the cleanest reinstall you can do since regularly uninstalling will not remove the application record.

Hi, thanks for replying I did what you said but when i went to the home menu and data management it was still there but it said 0.0 mbs what do I do?

update: so I used tinfoil to look at the tickets and saw there was still the ticket for the game so I deleted it but now when I try and start the game it says I have to go online and says "Checking if software can be played" what do I do now? I tried deleting it then downloading it again but it didn't work I still get the "Checking if software can be played" message. I tried deleting everything than redownloading with tinfoil and it says failed and it couldn't import ticket. How do I fix this Please help?

That’s weird cause when I download any game installs fine works and ask me for update for the game I click yea and downloads from the Nintendo severs and it be in my clouds too

Wait... so, you´re using Kosmos too, like OP? And still online and updating your NSPs without issues??

I’m on 8.0.1 reinx and some files I installed ‍♂️ I’m not home now but let u know. I don’t go on multiplayer I do go to the eshop and download a free game works and every time I install a game it installs and then when I start it says needs update and I do and works and happen to me now and i seen that my switch was in normal mode and i just rebooted and not only it asked for an update i did it that popped up..
