I have a hacked switch. Version 7.0.1 last time I checked. It started having issues where if it jerked around too much, the SD card would stop being read and the whole thing shut down. I swapped the SD card reader with my working switch. Same issue and the "broken" one worked fine on the new one. I'm scared it might be a motherboard component but would like someone knowledgeable in these things to give me a little help.

You mean just plug the sd card into the charging port? If that works I'll do it. Would there be a way to use it in the dock?

there are 3 USB A Ports in it. on next to the C Port and then 2 Pro Controller Ports

but it still reads through the dock without issues? If so, great.
Edit: Do you know where I can get one that splits into both an SD card reader and another USB C port?
First, check here: https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/issues/369

Second, with a quick read, sounds like the SD Card Connector went bad.
I'm pretty sure it did. It looks like there may be a broken pin on the connector on the motherboard, not the card reader itself.

Send pictures of the SD Card connector on the motherboard, sounds like a hardware issue here.

Edit: I realize how blurry that is. I'll try again later

There's your issue, you've also damaged the track by the looks, only option is to repair it yourself if you have the skills or send it to someone who can, it'll need the plug replaced and MAYBE the trace jumped.

Hmm. I don't have the skills I'm pretty sure. How much would that cost to get professionally done? How much would it cost for parts?

Parts themselves are relatively cheap, as for the cost of the repair it is really up to the person doing the repair; check around the forums for any modder in the USA willing to do this and ensure they have the skill too; if you can't find anyone doing it for a reasonable price in the USA then just drop me and DM and we can discuss it as I have the required skill and equipment for this.

I have the same issue and found someone to repair it but I need to provide the part. I'm in the UK, where can I get it? Repairer suggested phone spares shop as there are ribbons that will match. If so can anyone recommend part or model number or place to buy it?

Thanks and appreciate the help
