I believe I need to update my EmuNAND, so I'm running my thought process here, to make sure I'm right before proceeding and to make sure I do this right.
- I picked up a Switch 2 weeks ago, it is unpatched running FW: 4.1
- I also bought a SX Pro used it and it works well
- I made a backup of my SYSNAND immediately, moved it off the SD and have it saved in two places.
- I then created EmuNAND after that.
However, I have a few games that do not work, plus SX Installer gives me errors. Some searching on these forms tell me my OFW is out of date and SX Installer doesn’t support such a low firmware.
From what I can read, I need to update my EmuNAND, but NOT my SysNAND. I should keep SysNAND stock. So here are my questions
- Should I update straight to 8.0.1 from 4.1 or should I pick an older firmware such as 7.0?
- I’m also assuming I can go straight from 4.1 to 8.0.1 without doing intermediate updates (Confirmed this just now by reading this thread!)
- I'm currently using SX OS 2.6.2 (beta), I'm assuming I should update to 2.7.1 (beta) before I proceed?
- I assume I just use the newest version of ChoidujouNX?
- Should I enable AutoRCM before I update?
- Before I update, I just need to make sure I am un EmuNAND is enabled
- I'm currently using FAT32, I'd prefer to stick with FAT32 and not convert to exFAT. I’m assuming that is possible
- When the update is done, I'm assuming just keep my Pro dongle attached, but do I need to press Vol + to auto enter RCM?
I’m just worried about burning a fuse, then getting stuck since I’m only 4.1
Thank you al
