EA Access subscription service will finally make its way to the PlayStation 4

It's never too late to try, at least, according to Electronic Arts, as they revealed that their monthly game subscription service EA Access would finally be heading to the PlayStation 4. EA Access has been available on the Xbox One ever since 2014, offering players a varied selection of their titles for $4.99/mo. When it first launched, EA attempted to put the service on the PS4, but was denied by Sony, who claimed that "[it] wasn't a good value for PlayStation fans". In the five years since then, it appears things have changed, as starting in July, you'll be able to experience select EA games such as Burnout Paradise Remastered, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Titanfall 2, and all of their sports franchises for $4.99 a month, or $29.99 a year.

That's not how I see it... especially as the only physical EA and Activision releases I do buy are pre-current gen.
The 'vicariously' argument is kind of pedantic. Strictly speaking, they get the money from the initial sale and that's it.
At best you could argue that a 'consortium' of subsequent owners of a disk has 'co-funded' the purchase, but after the initial purchase the publisher sees no further revenue from that sale (discounting dlc and mtx) - once that item is in the second hand market there are other parties making profit (and more commonly, losses) from the resale (none of which is going back to the original publisher).
I think you're right, but only if, like you, you were never a potential buyer in the first place.

Games without microtransactions. Might've missed a couple i'm less familiar with. I forgot if EA Access includes all DLCs for everything or if that's premo. I even highlighted the ones I think are good!
Regardless it was an easy list to make. It was basically all of their games LOL. Only the premium access that gets you all of their latest games includes microtransaction titles. There's a lot of quality, well rated, games well worth the price. Some are crap, sure, but every service has filler.

Chew slowly, don't choke on the truth all at once now.

I don't see you playing half off that list with ea access on a ps4, because they are not supported on the console.

If you buy a subscription, does it work on Ps4 and Xbox one or do you have to buy a subscription for both?

So lemme get this straight...
You pay for internet access, then for PSN, and THEN pay for EA Access on top of all that? Sounds like a shitty deal to me.
Do we know for sure that you'd need PSN+ first? As a dick move from a dick company it wouldn't really surprise me, but do we actually know this?

Both, I thought the same about PC and Xbox One.
If it worked across both it might be worth it but since it is not, it's not worth it. I bought a 12 month sub for $20 once. It never really played anything. I see the $20 deal come around every year but I keep passing. I thought if it worked across consoles maybe I would bite again.

I can never tell if anti-fanboys are intentionally trying to look so retarded, or just genuinely this stupid.

Subscription services like this are becoming increasingly popular. How could it even be a scam? Dumbass.
It's a pretty insane value. EA has published or released a pretty massive catalog of games, and this is a very good way to try them all. You can hate EA all day but that doesn't change the value in the slightest. Their more premium subscription lets you play their brand new games which is ridiculous value. How you could even try to turn this into a negative is truly baffling.

Ironically it's the cheapest way (legally) to try all of these games without actively supporting EA much.

NoNAND said that...so he's genuinely that stupid. But also retarded. He's a mix breed.

It will probably have micro-transactions. They will charge you $8.99 a month just to let you pay the $4.99 a month sub fee

It's not a bad deal, honestly. Specially the PC offer, because there's a few 'golden oldies' that really deserve some time, like Crusader, Syndicate to name a few.

If the PS4 library is large, with a few more recent games, 30$ for an avid gamer is almost nothing. With this and the couple PS+ games offered each month.... It's a great offer.

So, bad jokes aside. I'm using their PC based subscription service. No regrets. Instant (or early) access to the deluxe editions of their first party titles and a selection of a growing library. I don't mind these services.

Without backwards compatiblity the PS4 has access to half the games or less available on Xbox and PC. No Mass Effect trilogy or dead space, for instance. Still a good value although I subscribed for only a year and decided to pick the games I want individually (probably a bad decision of mine, considering I bought 10 EA games or so since then).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Last EA game I bought was the first Dragon Age game. Then they raped the IP, and buried it. Sadly now, they plan to dig up its corpse again, just to be worked on again, by the walking corpse of a company known as Bioware.

Googled for "2014 GOTY" and it returned Dragon Age : Inquisition, though. You are entitled to your own opinion, of course.
