This looks brilliant! Thanks for your hard work, downloading now. I loved all the old Sensible software games. I'd kill for a DS port of Sensi World of Soccer!

This is awesome.

How do you throw grenades/launch rockets? o.O

Use fire key and click again with stylus to launch things. Will certainly change this behaviour in next release, will wait for suggesiton about that.

Yeah, that is a bit cumbersome. I personally prefer the R button to be for grenades/rockets. Whether I'm using the stylus or the d-pad to control my squad, one of my fingers is over there anyway. And while using my pinky to hit the R-button while using the stylus might be a bit weird, it's not like you throw/launch them all the time.

None the less, still awesome work. Thanks for this and all the other old retro games you've brought to the DS. I have thoroughly enjoyed almost all of your work on the DS and GBA.

Now get to work on Speedball 2, and it needs to have WiFi and local wireless and... Just kidding. :-) Almost everything you've released so far has been a gift that has kept me occupied for ages. Too much retro goodness keeps me from playing the new games I want. :-D

Awesome port, good job guys! I am having a lot of problems with my guys throwing grenades when I don't want them to, so I'll suggest the following control scheme (similar to Picross):

Tap on screen with no button press, move guys
Hold down up/ X for lefties and tap for machine guns
Hold Right/A and tap for grenade.
Hold left/ Y and tap to move view around?

Hello,
I'm having issues trying to run Cannon Fodder (v 1.0). I tried to download the archive twice and had no success. Once unzipped, the NDS file has this md5 checksum: 737854d10d89f85e25f8f724952d8ea4
I tried to run it from a NDS directory and from the SD card root directory, and still nothing (blank screen).
I'm using a SuperCardDSTwo on a DSi.
By the way I also unsuccessfully tried to run it from DsOrganize, (I remember that the first release of Warhawk DS could only ran this way, but sadly it did NOT work with CannonFodder.)
What's puzzling me is that Mr Alekmaul seems to also have a SuperCardDSTwo, and his other releases run fine on my linker (either .plg and .nds).
Did anyone have the same issue or a solution?
Thank you and sorry for my rough english.

Call me crazy, but I think the Jaguar version is the best one, with the Amiga version a close second.
But don't take my word for it. Grab Project Tempest and the game, and see for yourself. :)

Sussed out a way to get this game working with the R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn).

1. Boot to Wood as normal (I'm currently using Wood v1.64).

2. Start Moonshell (moonshl2.nds)
I installed the following version of v2.10 from here:
http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/a...child-zwai-chadrcheze-edition-2-0-f24889.html

3. Browse to and Start HBMenu.nds (v0.4.5 attached below) from Moonshell:

4. Browse to and Start CannonFodder.nds from HBMenu.

Cannonfodder will now work perfect on your R4i Gold. Saving works too ('cfodder.sav' appears in the Micro SD root directory after you save your game).
Note: You must do things in the order I have written. Starting Cannonfodder from Moonshell or HBMenu alone won't work on the R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn).

Sorry to drag this out of the depths.

Has anyone ever managed to get this working on a 3DS via .cia install? I have a bunch of NDS games installed to my 3DS sd card (using NDS Game Forwarder) but Cannon Fodder won't load. I do have it working on my Acekard 2i, but the forwarder for that doesn't work either, and just loads the Acekard 2i menu.

It would be super sweet to have all my games load via a nice icon
