I didn't realize that it needed a dongle. I am going of the Renix guide and it said to use that method to backup the nand. I thought that it could all be done without a dongle.

Read my post again.
You're trying to use SX Dongle or SX Loader instead of normal payload. You're doing tutorial wrong.

It's not a Hekate error.

What does SX have to do with Reinx? I installed Reinx on another Switch about 4 months ago.
Because you are launching the wrong payload. You're not launching reinx payload you're launching the SX os payload and then it's looking for boot.dat on your SD and cant find it.

I got you og, download hekate 4.10.1 from github (cant post links, sorry, u gotta google :/) its the latest version of hekate, use this bin for the payload, and dont forget to delete the bootloader folder off ur sd card and replace it with one here.

Should work smooth, I had the same issue, thanks to these posters that know everything but dont have the time to tell you what you can do to correct it, I found this and am currently backing up dees nads.

I also fallowed the super simple guide, no sx or what have you that I know of.

The guide ELY_M posted seems better, i'm at step 24 and it needs a file in bootloader that I deleted, so now I need to put that back before I can continue....

It's true - OP was "right". It wasn't because he tried to do it with a SX Payload because he actually didn't know it was one.
I also followed the tutorial step by step and it makes you move a ton of folders onto the SD Card before booting with hekate - I think this is where the error comes from!

https://switchgui.de/switch-guide/

This tut doesn't make you move any folder to the SD Card for your backup, I assume because you need other folders than in the gbatemp tutorial...
Just start with an empty SD Card and with the hekate payload, like in the tutorial I posted

Yeah that guide is garbage and ruins your chance of getting a clean backup because of the SD Files. Can't believe it's been up for over a year and it's still not edited/fixed.
