PS1/2 Get my ps2 online and browse youtube in 2019

Hey guys. I am sure this has been posted or asked many times. I would like to get my fmcb ps2 slim online and browse youtube with a usb linux install. Does anyone have the most up to date and stable version to install, that will fulfill my geeky needs? I would love to see Kolibri OS, or Damn Small Linux on the PS2. Lets keep in mind the desktop gui is what I am looking for not an all command based version.

You'll probably be better off buying a cheap Android box or a Chromecast.

PS2 is too slow for even searching youtube.
Better forget about it if you don't want to be disappointed after many hours of trying to load it.

I would really like to see more progress on this console in the future. I hope They get one of those 2 distros working on it. Is there a live disk I can run that will allow me to browse the web atleast?

I don't need. I'm in touch with many more powerful devices and they struggle too.
Your Raspberry Pi 3 is many times more powerful than PS2 and is not that smooth with searching Youtube and 1080p video playback is not ideal. And in addition has native Linux drivers, not like PS2.
We are talking about device that has almost 20 years.

If you want to waste your time, go on.

Most YT videos have h264 (= MPEG-4 part 10) as the standard codec (or the more complex VP8/whatever)

PS2 doesn't have hardware video decoding; while Simple Media System (based on ffmpeg) proves there's enough processing power to play MPEG-4 (= MPEG-4 part 2 ~= Xvid) in real time, that's not necessarily extrapolable to h264 (with gratuitous added complexity of YT obfuscating direct links to the video file, and of relatively slow networking)

Playing FLV is probably realistic - but I'm not sure if recently uploaded videos still get converted to FLV, and even then most of the work is still to be done

All of this of course as a native application, not running on Linux, a web browser, and more abstraction layers...

Oh I beg to differ on my pi 3. I run 1080p video online and off. Im sorry. I mean 1080p 60fps without a single screen tear. I dont remember if i am gettings 60fps online. Its been a while.
Sudo apt-get install tboplayer

I did find a youtube player for ps2. I will look for an updated version. And update
