If you mean the cheat menu, then no. If it uses smapi then it won't work, only xnb edits work becuase it just replaces the file using layeredfs. So anyway to make teleport mod work?
So that mean harvest with sickle mod wouldn't work either? That suck.If you mean the cheat menu, then no. If it uses smapi then it won't work, only xnb edits work becuase it just replaces the file using layeredfs.
You could go and edit every map to add portal caves if you really want to. I have a farm map that I customised to have cave entrances that lead to the mines and the beach.
You could do that and add portal caves to those areas that would teleport you back to the farm. But that's the only way you're going to get any kind of teleportation to work.
But you need to know how to mod the game maps if you want to do this, just look for tutorials on the official stardew forum.
Correct, layered_fs is just file replacement, it loads those files in place of the base files in the game. That's why only .xnb replacement mods work, and not dll injection mods that use smapi. So let me get this straight, I just have to create the folders and put them in the directory as stated above and just put non SMAPI mods into them?
Okay after watching a quick video on how layered fs works it would seem to require you to basically load your switch on a cfw so it can load the mods. It would seem to be a bit more of a hassle than I thought because of the idea of starting your switch on rcm mode every time you want to use mods etc. I’m new to the whole switch modding thing, for the people in this thread, is it realstively quick to get layered fs up and running? And is it worth going through with it just to use some custom portraits for stsrdewvalley? From what I saw online you need to use a paper clip or something to access rcm mode?
Yeah aware about the whole Nintendo banning people thing. Just wondering what type of ban it is. I can take the risk. All I really want is to use a mod that doesn’t require me to do multiple mundane task every time just to use it. So according to you it would seem to be relatively easy to do. Gonna give it a try soon. Because right now I can just turn on my switch and play stsrdew valley. Gonna see how long it takes to load up the mod and play and see if it’s worth the hassle every time I want to play.well first of all you need to be 100% ok with getting your switch banned. if you aren't then don't hack it.
If you are ok with it then you need get a way to get into rcm, so a paperclip or a jig + a pc or android phone with a cable to connect to the switch or a dongle. then you have to decide which cfw you want to use.
but getting layered fs running is extremely easy. because either you choose a cfw that has it and then you do not need to do anything to get it to run. or you choose one that doesn't include it and then you can not run it.
installing mods is pretty easy too, just copy the files where they need to go (so far all mods I used either had an info text or already came in the right folders).
So can you share the map to me? It too hard for me to edit it.If you mean the cheat menu, then no. If it uses smapi then it won't work, only xnb edits work becuase it just replaces the file using layeredfs.

Well my map uses some totally different farming/fishing spaces so it will probably mess with your crops and stuff. But someone else made a map with portal caves that looks to be just a huge open farming space, so that one is probably safest for you to go with. Just download the version with the caves: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/270 (you'll need to make sure you are on the default type farm as it doesn't replace other maps like fishing farm etc)So can you share the map to me? Aw man, I use wildness map. So I should edit the "farm_combat.xbn" right? Do you know any guide for adding teleport cave?Well my map uses some totally different farming/fishing spaces so it will probably mess with your crops and stuff. I guess you could try changing the file name of the map I linked above from "farm.xbn" to "farm_combat.xbn" and see if it just straight up replaces it without problem. Not sure though since my edit was to the fishing map, but I think monsters spawn on the wild map right, so they might bug out but it's worth a try since you can justt delete the file if it doesn't work, and it will go back to normal. (remeber to back up your saves frequently if you start adding mods and stuff, just to be safe)Aw man, I use wildness map. So I should edit the "farm_combat.xbn" right? i have been trying for 2 hours to use portraitsw with no succes, i have sxos, made the folders, copies the mods, also copied the files of Layeredfs that according to videos are just 5 files copied into the sd, even made an atmosphere folder just in case but nothing happens, i have shitload of mods for breath of the wild, why is this particular one not working, can someone explain with steps how to use these mods? thanks in adnace
You need to have the files named exactly as they are in the base game, many are capitalised but some modded files aren't, easiest way to figure out the exact names is to extract the game, or if you have the pc version just look at the file structure there (since the nsp is just a packed version of the pc game).
I downloaded some portraits and certain ones didn't work, when I looked it was because certain files had wrong names eg "jas.xnb" needed to be "Jas.xnb" for her portrait mod to work. And just to be sure, you are placing the xnb files in "0100E65002BB8000\romfs\Content\Portraits", and they are xnb files you are using, not content patcher or smapi mods.
The only other reason it wouldn't work is if you either don't have layered_fs installed/active (assuming you do if other games work), I can't speak for sx but I heard it can make plugins temperamental or straight up not work. Either that, or you are using the collectors edition of Stardew Valley. I have that version and it has a different ID, in which case change the id folder to "0100DD400C468000" and see if it fixes it.
Thanks a lot for your help, it worked, i was missing the portraits carpet, again thanks a lot, i do have a question, can i change only portraits? can i change any visual aspect, i wana change the house in that case wich carpet should i make? thanks again for your help
