Have you seen an explanation of why it hasn't been released if it doesn't work past 4.1, yet Switch firmware is at 6.1 already?

Yes, only part of the exploit chain was fixed & they don't want to burn the rest.

I am under the impression that nobody is going to try to fix the exploit to work with later OS until Mariko comes out.

Am I missing the point or just completely wrong or are they saying you can now downgrade too any firmware even if you have burnt efuses updating officially?

Fixed sleep mode for downgraded units with efuses burnt more than required?

you potentially missed it.

you could always downgrade to a lower firmware with say a nand backup, if you updated and burnt fuses accidentally.
but to start the system, you need to load cfw (telling the system to ignore the wrong fuse count at startup).
that still came with the so called sleep mode issue. upon waking up from sleep, the system would always check fuses, realize they dont fit and shut down, requiring another payload injection to load cfw again.
this, of course, was super annoying.
now, while you still absolutely need to inject a payload to get into cfw on a downgraded system with burnt fuses, you can basically use it like normal since you can put it to sleep.

I believe you can downgrade to any firmware with choixdujour no?
Something tells me that one day this might be very handy (for permanent cfw).
Didn't mention Choi since I wasn't sure.
Thing is, permanent cold boot cfw only works when fuses aren't burnt, as needing rcm and payload (as you do when fuses don't fit ) to even boot defeats the purpose somewhat.
