Hacking Phat Infinity Brick

Got a old ceramic white phat model. installed infinity 6.61 Pro firmware. Got pissed cause i can't use CWcheat and TempAR is bad for psx games. Uninstalled Pro then tried to install 6.61me2.3 (OFW Version) got an error and a paperweight.

So what are my options now? I have a hold of two 3k models but i can't use them to make a jigkick battery and i wish to salvage this phatty model cause i kind like him. I know i could make a hardmod jigkick battery using my phat one, back in my old days i had a 2k model with a Jigkick battery that i made a permanent mod and it still worked as a normal battery afterwards, how should i proceed? Do i have any other options? All i get from it is a few secs of the power light, i'm unable to get to recovery or anything. Seeing how hard is to get a functional OEM sony battery it seems almost like it is better to salvage a motherboard from a dead Phat or something.

I'd say get a battery and hardmod it.
Or get a dedicated jigkick battery.

Easiest and cheapest solution.

Yup, Phatties are easy to unbrick with a jigkick and Magic Memory stick.

Just resolder the connection afterwards to turn it back into a normal battery again!

I did try to just lift the pin, this kind of soldering is too small, its beyong my powers. But it works. Sometimes we have to do the hardway. I would leave this warning here for people who just got a PHAT unit or a perma hackable 2000 unit. DO NOT USE INFINITY if you wanna use ME CFWs (that is compatible with CWcheat which at least for pops works great) just normally update to 6.61 and run ME 2.3 OFW installer.

Whys that? At least for me (L)ME was not working with Infinity bootCFG on my Phat unit. It worked on my 3k units but not on my 1k.

i did want to ask what made you put infinity into a phat to begin with, even the developer said that it's a really shit idea, since infinity is inferior to any cIPL CFW there is. for a phat that's permahackable in every way possible even using an LCFW is a silly idea. All those LCFW's and infinity and whatever else were invented for later models that could not be permaflashed, when you belong to the 1000 series masterrace, stay away from those
