I know that just slotting it in is a horrible idea, as it can get stuck, but what if we taped it to the JoyCon where Pins 9 and 10 would be?
ya thats how i have it a really really thin peice between 9 and 10 taped and it
Do what you want, it’s your switch. I just wouldn’t trust it with my switch

Permanently shorting pin 10, when going online, might get you banned by Nintendo in the future. (As in "they can detect that.") Shorting it "once in a while" (then taking out the jig) will not.

So I should take out the RCM Jig once I'm done with it?

Well - how would you get your controller back in otherwise.. ;) (For those that dont use tape jig. ;) )

But basically yes. :)

Shorted pin 10 shows up as "special home button pressed" in the OS. Random presses would be "normal" (even an unmodded joycon does it sometimes on its own), permanent presses would not be.

Which is why we (as in others and I.. ;) ) in theory went away from "having it permanently shorted" as a "solution" - because it raises the ban risk.

Now that's interesting to know! I was just about to get my right joycon permanently soldered. I do have an old one that enables me to get into RCM but taking it with me can be bothersome. Well I guess after learning this I'll not do it.

Whenever hekate for 4.x crashes, it makes the SD card unusable with hetake (When the payload launches, it says "Failed to mount SD card (make sure that it is inserted)" and continues to ofw). Formatting using SDFormatter and guiformat makes the sd card work with hekate again (Thanks ReSwitched user-support), but after it crashes again, the whole process starts all over again (Including 3 hour restore of sd card backup).

My question is: Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I can't seem to find anyone else talking about it on Discord or GBATemp.

Heya! I tried everything in this thread and nothing has fixed the SD mounting error (in hekate and ofw...) any advice on what is going on with my system!?

How
Format your SD card to fat32. I did it with the program Rufus.

Use @CTCaer payload version 1.3 https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases/tag/v1.3 Thread : https://gbatemp.net/threads/rcm-payload-hekate-mod-raw-full-nand-backup.502604/

With the SDfiles from this release https://gbatemp.net/threads/hekate-ipl-4-x-hbl-on-4-x.503471/ Files : https://github.com/nx-python/hekate-ipl-4x/releases (sdfiles.zip) unzip it and put in root of the sdcard.

So CTCAER Payload and the sdcard.zip from other release and i can launch hbmenu with my Samsung Evo 64gb SDXC card. On my 4.0.1 Switch

How do I use CTCaer 1.3? No bin file? Normally I use Tegra.. help me pls

My switch worked perfectly until I took the SD card out and in again (no changes in SD card). Now Hekate wont recognize my SD card. Any ideas?
