Oh this again?
Tbh, I shouldn't find it funny at all but ironically it is a little funny....
I agree its kind of shitty to make it but for people to willing run some random thing on DU without a second thought is also quite funny.

Yes they made the brick nsp, but no one forced you to run it? You hacked your switch, did not make a nand backup even though every guide I know of insists on you making a backup... And you installed/ran some random piece of data on the internet? What did you expect to happen?? lmao The blame can't 100% go to the creator can it?

Lesson learned here? MAKE A DAMN NAND BACKUP. Now you have a $200/$300 paper weight congrats.

I understand the "always backup your nand" part but please let's be real it's not their fault if someone bricked their console. If I get a virus on my PC is it my fault too ? I'm genuinely curious on why you would put your programming skills to destroy someone else's console, there is no benefit in doing this. Would you take someone's console and fucking throw it on the ground for no reason ? I don't think so but you did the equivalent with this malicious software...
By the way my Switch is fine.

Pfff, some peoples reasoning is kinda weird. Backups are essential ofcourse but can everybody say they backed up every damn thing in life? So if someone accidently sets ure house on fire as a prank and you lost everyting on ure PC because u dont have a cloud backup, its ure fault?

You're talking like anyone who got bricked is a someone from DU.
This came from discord.

You might even download it unaware because you trust the people posting it.
It was forged to look like a real game.

Most of the time when you get something like that its because you were doing something you weren't supposed to be doing or downloaded something bad? Its not always the case I suppose but most of the time it is.... So they chose to download that illegal thing and install it :/ It comes with the territory.... People get joy out of knowing that it happened to people. The code is a POS move but the people also need to take responsibility for not taking the right precautions...

1 Thing I've learned is you can't always trust people on the internet. Running ANYTHING in this area can be bad or can go south.... They downloaded something illegal and got a "virus". Same as torrenting. You downloaded it and got something bad with it? You atleast have half the blame for installing it? correct?

If a mass shooting happens and you don't have a gun to protect yourself, is it your fault you get shot or the shooters fault for shooting you? Reevaluate your logic once more.

This is why the number 1 rule of hacking is to make a backup. I don't care if it's the Nintendo Wii, and you're "REALLY REALLY SURE" you'll be fine: you make that backup.

This is not an excuse as to what the two parties involved did, but people, really, backup your NAND. If you did, the trolls wouldn't have screwed you over, because you'd have a backup to restore to.

Carrying on--these actions are reprehensible. I'm sure none of the people with the bricked systems are pleased with how things turned out, and I'm certain that no one wants to see this happen again.

However, that doesn't mean there should be a witchhunt going on. Doxxing is still against the rules, regardless of the source of the dox perhaps being the dox-ee themselves. Please hold yourselves to the TOS/Rules of the site. (This also means wishing for people to be doxxed, or requesting doxxes) Further offtopic bickering and derailment will be immediately removed, and repeat offenders will be warned.

Punishment onsite will be decided for both Createable and JellyPerson as seen fit by the Moderation team.

Of course im not too blame. You cant really be comparing downloading an illegal thing to a mass shooting can you?? Thats kind of insane....

Bricking has always been part of this illegal side of the scene.... Vita for instance... You pirated a game that you thought was gonna be the game but what happened? You got a virus of the sorts and it bricked your console. Is that not at least partially your fault for illegally trying to download that game in the first place? It comes with the territory you choose to be in.

You must have a shitty life not trusting anyone im sorry.

Take credibility and reputation for example.
So now you go to insults and such? Thank you for setting the example for this community :) Take silica from the vita scene? creditable in the beginning right? Bricks vitas because he wanted too? lmao

Well they don't seem to grasp how serious this could be, nor do they seem to give a shit. If anyone lives in the states who was affected by this then you could go to the police, their identities are apparently known, spreading a computer virus with malicious intent is illegal and they've admitted to it several times in several places. Wonder if they would continue to be so apathetic about the damage they caused if the police got involved.
Please go to the police with this, tell them you are downloading games for free and one of them broke your console. then let me know how that goes as they laugh in your face~

Yes, I'm comparing it in the sense that there is someone who woke up and set out to do harm to others and its in no way shape or form the persons fault who didn't prepare to be harmed that day.

Yes, I am to blame for not have a nand backup for not being able to RESTORE my switch. But who's to say that I should have to throw away all of my saves and reinstall all of my programs again because someone else decided to destroy my console?

Your logic is flawed, and its sad to see you defend a "cyber terrorist."

you literally took the risk when you first ran custom code on your switch.. welcome to hacking consoles, if you dont take precautions suffer the consequences~

To be honest, you're a fool if you completely trust anyone in the scene. People have reputation? yes, of course. But, as already proven, you console can be bricked in a blink of an eye. It is easy to do so. Modding is risky, and you should know that from the moment you insert a paperclip on the rail. People do shit to mess things up, it isn't right. But if you want to make sure your console is safe, you have to be careful with everything.

EXACTLY THIS!! They chose to hack it and run custom code... No one wants to make a damn nand backup anymore... Then they bitch when they cant fix their switch. They ran the code without a safety net and now they have to suffer for it.. Its sad, but its always been a part of the scene....
