Hi there! I had this problem for some time. No one could tell me what it was.

So when I leave the ps4 in sleep mode and turn it back on it will go from orange to white and then just shut off.

After this, the console will turn on, go to blue and when the white light appears it goes out again.

At this point I have to unplug it and leave it unplugged. So after this it goes south in a few days. To the point it turns off when playing.

If I replace the power cord it is fixed and lasts for a few months. Then it goes to he'll again.

I posted it on iFixit here the link to the video
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/495580/PS4+shuts+down+returning+from+sleep+and+won't+start

I have the ps4 plugged alone in the wall. It is on my desk in a a vertical stand. I use a pc monitor to play.
Thank you in advance.

Sounds like a power supply going to die.... It is common at the model you have, the psu to die eventually.

I'd try rebuilding the data base if that doesnt fix it then I'd suspect hardware issue.

(Caution idk if you lose data or saves)

replace internal power supply, they're not that expensive, and easy to do (plenty of videos on YouTube on how-to if you never opened PS4 before). If it still acts the same with the new power supply, then you have an APU failure, and it's not something you'll be able to repair yourself

Do you get the same symptoms if you use it on a different monitor/tv? It could be a symptom of incompatibility with hdmi-arc or hdmi device-link.
Yes always. Tried with TV too. It happens. I had a spare PSU, laying around in case mine died I finally changed it now I left the PS4 in sleep mode for a day. I'll keep you all posted what happens.

Mine is the most expensive one. ADP-200ER

I did everything in recovery, even format my ps4, replaced the HDD with a 1tb one from another ps4.

Thank you all for your response I appreciate it!

PS: Well FML, I changed the PSU and there I was playing in remote play and the console just farted and turned off. I am gonna start saving to buy a new PS4.

UPDATE: I know it is 2 years later but, I got info of more consoles that do this and it is the initial stage of the blue light of death. It is really sad because you can't really reproduce the issue and Sony will not believe you. I just ended up selling the console at a Game shop and bought a used Slim with store credit I got from it. I spent 60 euros on the new one. Worth it! Now it is their problem.
