Good morning.
I plan to purchase two more switches that will be compatible with SXOS, for my kiddos. I currently have my backup games on my SD card and plan to copy them to their switches's SD cards so we can have a private LAN party at home (future).
  • My future setup will be 3 Nintendo Switches, all running SXOS, with 128GB SD cards.
  • I will use a 802.11ac router that is not connected to the internet for the private Wireless LAN party. I know i need to save the failed Internet Wireless setting.
  • Each switch will have the exact XCI or NSP game files that the other switches have. These were acquired either by the gcdump tool on my switch or download.
1. Am i missing anything from this idea?
2. Should each switch be able to play the same XCI/NSP files? Did not know if there is any keys for decryption to worry about.

All games play fine on my switch.

Thanks in advance for any input you have.

The only issue you’ll have is if you move the SD cards between the systems as they all have different SD card seeds - the switch by default will want you to wipe the card if you put one switch’a Card in another system.

In theory you can normalize the seeds between the systems, but I haven’t figured out how to do this yet.

If you use XCIs, you should be able to just delete the switch folder on all the sd cards and you should be good to go.

I would just use ReiNX though and save the cost of the SX units. Just don't expect to be able to mix-match sd cards and not run into issues.

I'd also make sure to make NAND backups of each Switch in advance, just in case. I'd store them by serial number so you don't get them confused.

Thanks for the reply.

I was going to copy just the XCI and NSP files to each card.

The Nintendo folder will be created by each switch after I use Prgram to update to 6.0.1 without burning fuses.

Already stored the NAND backups.

I thought this would work but still new to the switch hombrew. Didn’t know if I used GCDump tool on my switch, that it also uses my keys. Thus making it incompatible on any other switch in the household.

Thanks for the reply!

That's not true, yes it uses your cartridge's certs, but I don't believe those will affect you using those backups on other consoles using ReiNX or other CFW.
