Hi mate, I want to ask you about Switch hardware in relation with Retroarch. Do u think there is still enough potential for high improve performance? or depends more on optimization?

Cheers!
We hit optimization bedrock long ago (generally speaking), only option would be writing assembly by now.

For those a bit out of the loop regarding RetroArch (I am currently finishing SNES Flashback), what is the performance of the PSX core?

I have Suikoden I and II (and no PSX anymore), can I relive the killing of Tyr's father by his hand and watch Gremio being eaten by parasites at a decent framerate?

hey guys i have a problem copying the retroarch folder to the root of my sd card (sorry if this is a common problem addressed earlier). it slows down to like 1 kb/s and takes hours to copy. this is just after i had copied quite a few "back ups" that were gbs in size in just a few seconds. and i tested after with another file incase i damaged the sd card and it was fast too its just the retroarch folder itself. any ideas please?
Its probably copying the assets folders. Lots of very small files. That's just how it is with file transfer. Its the quantity that slows down, not the size of the files. But it should not take hours. Are you being hyperbolic or it literally take hours? If yes, i do recommend you test with another card just to make sure.

it said 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish. does that sound normal?

yeah i have it "on". Without this option enabled the games run very smoothly. (except the playstation obviously). With "threated video on" it stutters and it looks like frames are skipped

I use "threated video on" and vsync on for default, not much a gain in psx to turn this off.

Use switch video driver with rgui then.
gl forces some synchronisation on us which seems can backfire (also the reason why fast forward only works on threaded with gl)

Anyone know if there is a working Dreamcast core?
Since it's the second time you (or someone else) asked this here without getting an answer:
The libretro core for the Dreamcast is called Reicast and as far as I know it's not available for the Switch yet. It would be surprising if it would be as the Dreamcast is even newer than a N64 which doesn't run well yet as we're still waiting for someone to take on that dynarec bounty.
