So, no one is capable of writing a short summary of how to extract the .nsp file, add some .nes files to it, and then package it to an .nsp file again?

The NES Library of games is a fundamental part of Switch Online. This thread is not clickbait.

It still kind of is.

The title suggests Switch Online - the thing as a whole, was hacked not just a specific part of it (NES games). If you went on the title alone, it would suggest to outsiders that their info was stolen etc. It should really be "Switch Online NES emulator hacked" to be more specific.

It is called switch online the channel I went by the article I saw and that's the title so if it's clickbait to some then it is what it is.

I don't think it's wise to add roms to their online service. Nintendo isn't allowing any modification on Switch, and we don't know the exact extension of their telemetry, which means it's unpredictable if they can or will ban somebody for changing the games in their app.
I'd wait more time and see if it's safe, specially for those who used CFW before and weren't banned yet. Don't mess with this kinda stuff if you can't afford the possible consequences.

If this involves staying online then it's a guaranteed ban lol. RetroNX has made my hacked SNES Classic (and future PS1 Classic), obsolete.

you need a hacked switch to run the modded NES nsp anyway, so you're going to be banned regardless

Not exactly, you only get banned if you use modified sofware while accessing nintendo online services (or run pirated switch games and then connect to internet). Using homebrews ONLY and not going online on CFW never got anyone banned

I seen the hack and it's pretty cool. So is there no way to make your own boxart for the game you add? Can we only swap the games but still need to use the original Nintendo boxarts? Nintendo mentioned that users need to get online every 7 days to keep playing the NES games offline. Is this the same process with CFW? If anybody can clarify this for me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

So is this the only way to add games by swapping it out with the games in the Nintendo library? We can't just add games and make a boxart for it?

They added a mod that added more games so the program to add box art they have. On new added games you can add other Nintendo games no box art yet till program open to public soon I hope. Discord is behind the add more games. I made just replace there game files to play any Nes game from there mod if you can open a xtx file I can add cover art.
