I was asking this too... wormdood pointed me into a good direction.

I already had an acecard2i for DS. a great flash cart.... was able to boot NTR and into luma CFW....

I must say.... freshop is something else. I'm just happy that my acecard2i still works for both 3ds and ds lite models.

too bad Nintendo wifi got shutdown. I'm sure there are custom servers but who plays the old games anymore?

Or you can spend $20 on an R4i-Gold 3DS RTS (the R4ids.cn version) and use some free software to convert it to an NTRBootHax cart and install CFW which would allow you to install 3DS/GBA/GBC/SNES/NES games to your 3DS's SD card and launch them from the Home Menu along with other things like cheats, rom hacks, DLC and more.

Then you can convert the flashcard back to normal and use it to play NDS games.

Could you point me in the direction of a detailed guide on how to and where I find everything needed? I really don't want to mess up and am rather new to this. Any help is appreciated.

In the official site r4ids.cn, you can find everything you need, the r4i gold 3ds plus card is the best R4 card to buy for installing CFW and playing DS games on 11.8 even.
