I understand the guide, but I lack the skills to replace pieces of binary code with the new pieces.. I could fight with a HEX editor for a while though, but I'm pretty sure to screw up something, and then it wouldn't work at all.

Maybe if someone managed to patch it they could supply a .bdf, .ips or other patch file. I'd like to try Rudolph's patch

Are you Rudolph himself? Any reason you wouldn't want people who don't understand how to use the patch files to not use the patch?

1. A type more than 64 kbytes is right, and SAVE may not work
2. There may be many problems except that SAVE of the SRAM is lost.
3. As a matter of course, I cannot use it for GBA more than 16MB in EZ 3in1 Expansion Pack
4. Even if some kind of malfunction occurs, I cannot guarantee it

Has there been any sellers that stock this by now? Granted I could just stick with my EZFIV but it's like pokemon, GOTTA HAVE THEM ALL.

Well, almost.

So it seems that GBA cheat support is possible with on-the-fly patching.

Just a matter of time until theres a third party tool.

I'm just hoping that the Ewin team gets the new loader out within the next few weeks. I have both the Ewin and the 3-in-1, and I like the Ewin better for its looks, speed, ease of use, and 32MB of RAM for homebrew, BUT, there are still a few issues with certain GBA save types (Lost Vikings and Puzzle Fighter don't seem to recognize saves, as I said in another thread on the Ewin forum), and I'm hoping this will be addressed in the next update. They acknowledged bugs, and hopefully this is one they're aware of.

Also, I have cart_save.gba, and once everything's hunky dory with the GBA loader, I'd very much like to know what format to convert the saves I ripped from carts to so they'll work on the EEP.

Post some of your save files from the EEP and I'll tell you what format they are in.

Wow, that would be great, but I'm afraid I'm a bit of a n00b. How can I post them? Is there a way to do attachments or something?

You can't add attachments to posts. Upload the saves to http://www.zshare.net/ and then post the download link. Archive (zip, rar, 7-zip) them first if you can. To make a good determination, I'll need saves from multiple games that use different save types.

Here you go. Not sure if they use different save types or not, but these are the five games that save correctly for me (I only have a few GBA games I really want to play on a regular basis).

Those appear to be raw saves that are padded out to 128KB. The saves you get from your retail carts with cart_save.gba are raw saves that are not padded. All you will need to do to use them is pad the files out to 128KB.

I wrote a little batch script (Windows only) that will do this for you. You can download it here: http://www.zshare.net/download/4482797339a1c5/

Just extract the contents of the zip file to a folder, then drag & drop the saves you want to convert onto the "Pad to 128KB.bat" file.

It worked perfectly for Dodge Ball, but didn't work for Street Fighter Zero 3 (which is unfortunate, since I was looking forward to getting my OLD high scores back). I tried it twice, and each time, the game started with the save data wiped. It also didn't work for The Lost Vikings, because that has only a 512B EEPROM. But the EEP wasn't working with Lost Vikings saves anyway.

But thanks. I'll try the DS Save Tool's GBA "other" setting, just for kicks and giggles.

Edit: Oh, it seems that all the games that won't save are EEPROM v24. Not sure what that means, but if all or most EEPROM v24 saves don't work, then it would seem there's a good chance that it will be noticed and fixed in a future version.

If you post the Street Fighter Zero 3 save you're trying to use I'll see if I can get if working.

As for The Lost Vikings, I didn't know there were save types that small. It won't take much work to update my little batch utility to support that.

Okay, I've uploaded them:
http://www.zshare.net/download/44966058f95fe2/
It should be fairly obvious, but 0608 - Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper (J).sav is the save created by the EEP (I entered some title screen codes so I wouldn't have to go about unlocking everything again - it took me months on the GBA), STREET FIGHT.sav is ripped from my cart, and Nonworking128K.sav is STREET FIGHT.sav processed by your batch script.
