Hey, i think i have messed up updating my old 3ds system and currently in a pickle. i followed the 3ds updating guide perfectly but i got to the part where it says hold start+power on to go into the boot menu but it was lumachain loader an accidently pressed a and lauched the SafeB9SInstaller and installed it, now my 3ds wont boot even without sd card, i power on then blue light comes on then goes off within 1 second. is my 3ds screwed?

Yeah but i did 1 step wrong the sector 2 1.
my 3ds was on the luma config screen an it had red writing SafeB9SInstaller so i pressed A then it loaded the SafeB9SInstaller, i dont know if that messed it up

i have teamviewer if you want to look at my sd card

If I understand correctly, you were on the Luma chainloader menu, not on the configuration menu, and pressed A on SafeB9SInstaller.

Check your SD card root for the boot.firm file, because it's really probable you forgot to put it in there.

If you're sure you have put it there (if you haven't double-checked, do it now), maybe put the boot.firm from this .7z file instead.

Hmm. That normally happens because no valid boot.firm is found. Let's try something else.

1-Move the GodMode9.firm file from luma/payloads to the root of your SD card and rename it as boot.firm.

2-Turn on your console and follow section VI of this guide from step 2.

3-Try to boot your console while pressing Select.

*This is assuming you have the setup_ctrnand script. If you don't, download it from the guide and put it on gm9/scripts.

Okay, i renamed godmode9 to boot.firm an it booted into the menu i pressed a to create essential files an it said my sd card was write locked, so i took out sd card removed the write lock on the card itself put it back in now im stuck back to blue light for a second on boot with godmode9.firm as boot.firm

I'm starting to run out of ideas now.

First, cut the contents of your SD card to somehwere else and check it by using h2testw. If everything is ok with your card, format it as FAT32 with 32kb of cluster size with guiformat.

If your SD card is not the problem (you can only say for sure after you test it with h2testw), rename SafeB9SInstaller as boot.firm and put it on the root of your SD card, replacing the old boot.firm . Then boot your console and carry out the installation, and try to do this

afterwards. You'd have to download GodMode9 again. Do it.

Try booting without an SD card. If it boots, we're almost done.

No matter brand or where you bought it, on this day and age you can't say for sure your card is ok if you haven't tested it with h2testw.

Ok, time for another tutorial.

1-Delete your boot.firm and the contents in your luma/payloads folder.

2-Put the boot.firm from this .7z file into the root of your SD card, and the GodMode9.firm from the first .zip file into /luma/payloads. You can delete anything else on that folder.

3-Follow this guide from Section III to the end (including section VI).

The problem was that you didn't have a valid boot.firm on the root of your SD card, as I said. :P
