Team-Xecuter Releases SX OS v1.4

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with lots of nice improvements in v1.4

We have not heard from TX for a while, but don't worry, they back with nice new update to their SX OS, check out v1.4 below:

SX OS v1.4 Announcement
Good day, loyal users!

While we chip away at many different features for SX OS and additions to our SX hardware family we took a break to prepare an update for SX OS with some exciting new functionality and outstanding bug fixes.

Let's have a look at what's new and fixed in this release:
  • Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
  • Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
  • IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
  • Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
  • Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
  • LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!
And that's that for this release. We have quite the backlog of feature requests and todo's on our plate, but trust we'll get there!

Can someone explain how everything works regarding the NSP files? Someone said you can download it all using a GUI program but that gets you banned? I have no experience with this so if someone could link to an explanation or anything it would be great!

Some people are downloading .nsp files directly from Nintendo's CDN servers. This requires you to use your console ID however, so that's gonna get you banned.

You can also just download .nsp files from certain sites on the internet instead. That may or may not get you banned.

Nope, you can tell freeshop what cert to use, and cdnsp uses a provided one. No need to use your console certs anymore.

Have a look in the tut section or mod section. Tons of info, don't be lazy.

Freeshop is still using your console cert for the time being. It hasn't been updated to used a banned cert

Well I've looked at the source code and it definitely looks for a cert in the folder.
Also I've seen many people mention that you can use the cdnsp cert if you just copy it over.

So... Ok, if you say so.

Last time I checked it was using the console certificate. It may have been updated now, I haven't used it lately

one question I'm wondering : Using SX pro, if I upgrade from 2.3.0 to 5.1.0 with the "no efuses burnt" method, do you think the card slot will be usable if someday I downgrade my console to a firmware lower than 4.1.0 ? or even with this method, If I downgrade, I won't be able to use my card slot in lower firmw ?

It actually requires you to put a cert on the SD card from what I can tell. At least that's what the instructions say to do.

Easy to test. Put the CDN banned certificate on the card and try to download something. If it blocks the download, then it’s working if it allows you to download it’s because it’s using your console certificate

That could be a sure fire way of your cert being banned. That's a shitty test imo.

Better a banned user use that with a good cert, if it downloads it does what is said

Is there a way to charge the console when the dongle is plugged in ?
Btw, as autoRCM is OFF (Don't want to install it) and if it's impossible de charge the console when the dongle is plugged in, we'd better not reach 0% of battery, because if we want to charge the console, it will launch in OFW and burn the efuses (I upgrades without burning efuses).

The console only has one charging port so no reason to keep the dongle plugged in all the time. You can also charge the dongle without the Switch if you plug it into something else that can accept the USB connection.
