I've seen several of these floating around and they seem to be more common than single-SD adaptors, but are they legit? If so, how is the second SD card accessed? Are they treated like one big stick or like 2 separate volumes?

I have a 2 sd card adapter. It is treated as 1 big card. I have 2 16 GB cards in it and it gets fussy it you try to put more than that in it. But the PSP gets more unreliable over 32GB so I'm pretty happy with it. If you can get 2 16 GB cards for less then 1 32 GB one go for it. If you want more then 32GB go for a single slot one.

it essentially is like a raid stripe

take one card out, or have 1 fail, and all data on both cards is corrupt, yay~

I use a single 128gb as card in my adaptor, I do recommend using the categories lite plugin with that many games on it though, without it it tries to read all the game icons and video previews everytime you access the psp game icon, I use the "Treat every folder as a separate memory card " option and created 27 folder (one for each letter and one for numerics) psp only now reads what ever folder you select and has been fine with no slow downs.

I have a dual adapter and I can only get one micro SD to work on it at a time. Could be a lot worse, it still works for the purpose I want it to, just half the storage space.

I'm not one to sway against cheap Hong Kong-like products for that kind of stuff, just that I think you should be prepared to take a gamble on it. It could work as great as if you spent $500 on it or it could be completely broken right out of the factory or anything inbetween. Roll them dice, brosephus!

ive been wanting to get one of these but literally every fucking amazon review's for these are so sketchy, like 10 people say it works, 5 say it wont work, 3 say it works but you have to put a piece of paper inbetween the slot so it stays in there. smH! ive wanted this and also a new battery but same thing for batteries , they are all made in china and all the reviews say buy 2 or 3 cause atleast one isnt gana work or it only holds a 5 minute charge . i guess the only option i have is installing a battery myself smh

I've never heard anything about needing to have a piece of paper in the slot of any kind. Mine both works and does not work; as I said one slot works and the other doesn't, but that's not really as big an inconvenience as it sounds. As long as it gives me one to work with, it earns its keep.

The only way to know for sure is to take the gamble and try it. I stopped reading reviews for products a long time ago because people don't know how to review shit. They're either extremely prissy, pissy or in any other case extremely unhelpful for what the rest of us want to know.

I actually purchased one and stuck 2 4GB cards in it to test it. I stuck it in the system and turned it on, then hear 2 loud pops a few seconds later. Both cards dead-shorted. I rolled a crit fail, it seems...

Yeah, well the one I had was legit. I had one years ago with my PSP, and stuck two 32gb cards in it. It worked perfectly. Well, actually, the adapter did break as in both halves weren't completely stuck together. Both if both mem cards were inside and it was inside the PSP system, then it worked perfectly.

My questio to you though is.... why the fuck even bother with that garbage now? Just get a PS Vita. It's fully hackable now on any firmware, unless Sony released something passed 3.68. You can even literally emulate the PSP XMB and launch screen... You can do everything with a Vita that you can with a PSP. Just get a Vita. There are also micro sd adapters for Vita. I have a 128gb micro sd card in mine.
