New Mega Man cartoon gets new trailer and premiere date

Mega Man is seeing a bit of a resurgence lately: Capcom is currently developing Mega Man 11, and the Mega Man X collection is slated to release in a few days. There's also new Mega Man-related media in the form of an upcoming cartoon series. Fifty-two 11 minute episodes of Mega Man: Fully Charged have been ordered for production, and will be airing next month. It was announced that the series would make its premiere on Cartoon Network on August 5th. New trailers were also shown off during San Diego Comic Con, to tease the show.

So is this aimed at 6-10 year olds? The low budget, the dialogue, the style of story telling, it all seems to point to a very young demographic. So compare it to paw patrol and pj mask, and maybe it'll work okay? But yes, very western.

The animation looks incredibly stilted and generic, and the dialogue is kind of cringe fuel. Granted, I know that it's not necessarily aimed at people around our age, so I'll give it a bit of leeway. Still, though, it's hard to watch, especially knowing that there are Mega Man fans who go back all the way to the 80s.

Besides the Mini that came out of nowhere, it looks alright. Going to take much to justify Mini inclusion. Right now, he seems just annoying and unnecessary.
As for the art style, I think it is fine. They could have still did a better design for Megaman tho.

Hadn't realized this before, but I just noticed they basically turned Mega Man into ripoff Danny Phantom. Really wish they had done something more original with the character.

This will kill the games because fans of the show will be weirded out by the difference in design between the show and games.

Welp this killed my hopes for them picking up from where the short clip at the end of maverick hunter X for psp left off it actually had good animation and the story seemed decent. This looks like someone is playing with their action figures or on blender.

I love it. And by the second episode several children are crushed to death because Mega Man wasn't quick enough. To all the people complaining, this is all a byproduct of Mega Man being an Astro Boy clone. All the attempts to make sequels have basically fallen into the issue of wanting to be edgy/diffrerent and yet too afraid of totally alienating their Japanese audience*. So, honestly I can't complain much for what it is.

* I think the US audience (don't know about EU or rest of the world) didn't get as much the Astro Boy reference and was much more willing to go off the rails, story wise. You want to make a Blade Runner dystopia version of Mega Man? Great. Lots of sex and violence? Awesome. So long as the gameplay was there and the story was skippable, those who hated the story would just ignore it.
