Hardware Should I buy a Japanese or US 3ds/2ds xl?

I was thinking of buying a 3ds but i'm a bit confused about if i should get a US or CFWed Japanese 3ds. Are there any down sides if i buy a CFWed Japanese 3ds and change the region???

Region changed consoles may not be able to access the eShop (in the official way), especially if they have ever been connected to the eShop before

But, with unofficial eShop clients (and the ability to pay the ~~developers~~ haha, greedy publishers by browsing the eShop from a PC with a web browser), it's not that big of a deal

afaik jpn 3ds's can get free cfw on any firmware I think,so if you don't care about eshop,go for the jpn 3ds

There is no difference besides eshop. Just get the 3DS for your preferred language, install cfw, and install any titles you want, jp or na.

If I haven't connected to the eshop then change the region will that do anything???

Because for some reason PAL 3ds are more expensive than japanese or even asian/us 3ds.
