No idea on an exact number but far, far more.

Plenty. How many have they lost to PC? 2 or 3 out of 70+? And that number is only including RETAIL and FULL exclusives.

According to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_4_games and the M-Z

Only 9 exclusive in 18 months (2 that only launched in Japan) for the PS4, not PS3+PS4.

Now, according to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Switch_games_(A-L) and the M-Z

A fuckton of exclusives, a really big fuckton. Tbf, most are kinda bad games (like the PS4 games) but is not even comparable to PS4 and we can get way more than 9 games that are worth it.

So no, not even close to "far, far more"

Btw: Im obviously not including Wii U games, but i think it would be fair to do so cause "only" 10M were sold and the PS3 sold 80+ million, so they are kinda exclusive for most people without a Wii U but with a Switch (most of the buyers anyway)

i consider games from wii U as ports, whereas games from other consoles are just multiplatform games and was just released late on the Switch. ^_^ no one is forcing anybody to get those ports and for people who did not own a Wii U could enjoy those games for the first time.

Uhhhhh. Are you able to read that page properly? Sort by exclusives and you'll see that there is indeed NOT a "fuckton" whatsoever.

Try here. https://gematsu.com/exclusives Select the system of choice, then "uncheck" all options except for full exclusive. Then come back with your comparison. Notice I also quite clearly stated RETAIL and FULL exclusives? Meaning not including PSN or eShop titles. But if you want to go there, the PS4 also has more exclusives on that front also. Regardless if they are good games or bad games. PS4 is the clear winner in this argument. Which isn't even an argument, as there's none to be had.

Ports are fine with me. I like having options. I don't even own a switch but some good games are better than none. Not may game companies are coming up with new content anymore. They mostly just expand on what they have already done.

Wii U have enough portability in an off-screen mode & GamePad is much more comfortable for me comparing to Switch. I'd buy Wii U again if i ever want to replay its titles again, they also much more cheaper now. As for Switch, I'm looking for new titles & if you'll ignore all these ports as well as indie games, there's not so much to play. N64 was a flop, GC sold not too good but Wii have it only as a BC, with just a bunch of VC ports from previous platforms, not an almost all library. Gimme Bayonetta 3, Metroid 4, Pikmin 4, nextgen Pokemon, Animal Crossing etc, that's why i bought Switch, not for dusty Wii U titles or ACA NEOGEO ROMs.

That's typical Nintendo though. Not really had any new titles since the snes days.

And yet people still talk about the legendary games of the N64 and GC. And yet people are still bitching because VC is not coming fast enough.
Especially today people are craving for oldies. Games no longer need to be these hyper scripted triple A games to have success.
But sure, if you remove all of that, if you remove indies, there won't be a lot of game for you. That's your choice to only want first party big games but let's be realistic, the whole list of games you've mentioned have been announced within a YEAR of the release of this console. It's already a lot for one company. You guys expectations are just unreasonable if you expect brand new first party games every month.

That's typical Nintendo though. Not really had any new titles since the snes days.

The typical misinformation that leads to pointless console wars.
- If you define "new games" by new IPs, then literally all consoles have that problem, with very few new ips coming out each generation. Is that a problem though? Up to debate. In the case of Nintendo, people are generally happy with sequels, their games are very arcade/party game oriented and it works well with sequels and that's why porting a game like Mario Kart will always sell well.
- If we purely talk new IP, everyone jumped at Nintendo for their Nintendo Labo (they're still gonna sell well), ARMS is a new IP, Splatoon is not so old itself, the Rabbids + Mario concept, although not Nintendo, is new as well. Is it a lot? Not really, although not less than other game companies. Do we need more? I don't know. I'd rather have a few killer concepts represented by a few well established IPs (Mario Kart, Smash, Mario Party) that are solid and well polished than continually trying to come up with 100% new stuff for the sake of being new.

Why does it matter anyway?
Why does it always have to turn into a console war?

As far as I can tell, there's no console war going on here. It's not that I dislike the Switch, I just dislike sooooooooooo many ports. I don't expect every single game to be a new ip or a sequel, I just think it's gone overboard.

I... Fail to see why that's an issue?...

People started to talk about exclusives, and as far as I know a "no" means it's not an exclusive. So in return there are by no means a fuckton of them on the Switch in comparison to the PS4.

It really doesn't matter anyway. If you feel the Switch has a much greater library than the PS4, that's fine. To each their own, I just disagree. But I'm also not saying the Switch sucks. I just feel (as stated above) that the ports have gone overboard. Cheers! :)

You read it all wrong. I dont care to be honest, i was just proving that the PS4 did not have "far, far more" exclusives (First 18 months). Btw, when you sort by exclusivity you have to select the "Yes"

No, dont play the fool now. Nobody said that. You said that in the first 18 months the PS4 had "far, far more" exclusives and thats a lie. Thats it. Not a console war.

Agree on that one.

I have nothing wrong with ports so long as they're programmed well. If they are hot garbage and are rushed pieces of crap, no thanks.
Kind of why Squenix needs to step their game up. ;o;
