Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

About this Pokemon debate. I have three 3DS systems, an O3DS a N3DS XL and a N2DS XL. All of them are hacked, all of them have a ton of VC injects, homebrew apps and downloaded games on them. None of them have been banned and I play A LOT of Pokemon. Like honestly, A LOT. I also use save editors and NTR plugins on almost every game I play and all of my systems have always been connected to the internet so I do not believe that the Pokemon update has anything to do with the bans. I also cannot really see the data sent to Nintendo being the definitive reason for people being banned as like I said, I've been using apps and games with non-legit title IDs for years without taking any sort of precautions and none of my systems has been banned.

Surprisingly, I didn't get banned ever since I tested two of my N3DSXL units while logging in online in the festival plaza a few days ago after checking it out repeatedly each day, I legally own both physical and digital copies of USUM, I only pirated and played UM offline when it leaked on my O3DSXL last november then I got rid of it along with the ticket until I heard @ThoD's case.

Was this using the 1.2 update?

Yep, I updated both of mine to 1.2V out of curiosity, that's all.

Wait, so if I play USUM on 1.2 on a card i am fine to go online but if I dump MY COPY of the game and play it online I am not safe? Even if I am the only one using it?
I thought each dumped version has its own id and if 1000 people play the same rom they would be banned but as long you use your dump you are okay. Is that inaccurate?
I play all my games legally so I never cared about that.

Yep, there are some reports of the users on 3DShacks subreddit that got banned had their cartridges dumped as installable CIAs, I presume that Nintendo checks these against their eshop tickets to see whether you actually bought it or not, they can't tell the difference between pirated or dumped cartridges as CIAs.

Thanks for the reply, so I should only play my card version. Good to know! Not a biggy as I buy all games legit (Own about 60 boxed games)... I hate piracy but love homebrew

And there is no way generate a new LFCS_B right? I heard that doing a sysytem transfer creates one but do you know if there is a way to use that to create LFCS_B yet?
Currently only using private and public seed injections work if I am up to date. There is no way of manually signing new ones yet right?

So basically we just need to install the update as a cia rather than use Nintendy's wifi installment
Tho I'm starting to think its only ppl who have been using seeds are getting banned. Alot of folks use B9S but still aren't taking the advantages of homebrew app injections to completely hide their activity
The ban could be related to something else like NTR CFW or other homebrew apps launched as CIA's

It tends to overwrite the LFCS_B of the target 3DS through system transfer, though you can restore its original file via 3DS recovery tool homebrew or firm if I remember correctly, it came from moveseed file.

updated my cart version to 1.2 and did not get banned. I have a feeling this has to do with the ticket file uploaded to free shop. I also ran a tiksweep before running the update too.

I realized that if you don't have any illegal content like pirated games or dumping cartridges as cias installed n your system, then you'd be okay.

I have CFW but most of the games I have on my 3ds are games I dumped.

Got a ban yesterday on my n2dsxl trying to connect to GTS in US which was downloaded from freeshop and updated to 1.2 a week before that happened. That's my first ban, cuz I've never had CFW on my old3DS.

Im still very new to using cfw on my n3ds xl and was very careless about what I was launching with wifi on at first. I know that multiple times I used FBI, homebrew launcher and other homebrew apps while having wifi enabled. Currently Im still not banned, and Im going to continue to avoid dumping and using my usum carts until more is known about this banwave.
