Hacking Ps3Xploit - Now Install CFW from 4.82 OFW : NOR/NAND Software Flash Writer + NOR Dumper Released
Rebug is always better. Not only is it one of the most stable it also offered feature not found in ferrox cfw. For example the ability to convert to DEX without need for another firmware. It also has the fake save data owner feature. This allows users to use anyone's save as there own. Typically using a save that's not yours would disable the trophies and all that. It also has the rebut toolbox which makes otherOS+++ so much easier to use. Simply put there is plenty of reason to downgrade to rebug 4.81.2 and just spoof to 4.82.

If you deleted it it should be fine but out of region apps should work. They do on mine using rebug 4.81.2... though there is a website with tons of PS3 psn games hosted. Most are downloaded directly from Sony and they just host rap/rif files. PM me if you have any questions. I've been tinkering with PS3 consoles near the entire life span of the console so I'm more than informed on most things PS3.

and try this exploit out.Everytime it says success,
it freezes
.Even after 10 min. waiting changes nothing.
I tried it multiple times but it keeps freezing

And yes i start with a BLANK site and load the site from the history
,theres no cd in my PS3 and tried multiple USB Sticks with the .hex file in root . It would be great if you know what am i doing wrong

This is probably the best exploit there is going to be. Thankfully the PS3 is EOL so even if they release a 4.83 it might not become as widespread as people fear.
People with Super Slim or other unexploitable consoles may get a HEN-style exploit at some point. But that said, I think people should pick up an exploitable console before the prices jack up. I know it sucks, but I went out and bought a used CECH-2500A for this while I can.

(My other PS3 just died completely yesterday, the fans don't work at all now)
You might wanna open it up and redo the thermal paste on that thing if you know how, and maybe increase the fan speeds a little using Webman.Phew!

Just done this on a spare BC 60gb console I had, works awesome! Note that I had some trouble running the exploit when I was using the pre made site with it on (can't remember the name) but as soon as I self hosted it worked first time. Running 4.82 Ferrox now, will be switching to Rebug. Thanks!!

Indeed and that includes under the IHSs as well... if you're not happy doing that then just do on top of them and keep a close eye on temps! My fully re-pasted 60gb machines run quite happily at 65 degrees for hours with fan speed at around 1/3 in GTA5 just as a point of reference, they're known for being loud and running hot but properly maintained they're actually not that bad. Unfortunately even with this in mind the YLOD is still likely to strike at some point but hopefully a lot longer away than if it was running hot with bad thermal paste

Throughout these 60 pages I've asked someone to tell me even ONE reason to go Rebug. You're the first to come with something of substance.
I still stand by my opinion that most people got all they need on Ferrox though. Although now that there's a Rebug mod so you can install it to begin with, I'm not gonna argue anyway

Reball it if you can but that still only buys you some time, phat ps3 just creates to much heat to stay functional for long.
How exactly do you get your Phat to fail? I've been using my Phat pretty consistently since 2008 and I've never had any issues with it. Do people like sit on their PS3s or keep them in the oven or something?
Reballing is pretty permanent from what I've heard. If the cooling system is functioning properly it's possible to keep temps below 65 or even 60 degrees (with CFW) without too much trouble so they don't have to run red hot either.
Yes I know I should have bought a Slim, but I could only find Fatties, and also, my PS3 had YLoD already before I installed CFW, so if I install CFW on this one and modify the fan speed wouldn't it live longer?
I need to find a good fan configuration though.

The temps were suspiciously high even after applying Artic Silver, and I had to run the fans really high using webman just to stop myself from worrying about it. That's why I bought a Slim CECH-2500A this weekend as soon as I heard they were exploitable.
But not everybody wants to run out and buy new hardware. Just keep it well maintained. Thankfully this new exploit has MASSIVELY expanded the pool of exploitable consoles for the future should our CFW consoles die.

It's a pretty wide spread issue, look it up.
Both original 360 and PS3 were designed poorly, PS3 was not as bad as the 360 though.
Seems like a massive exaggeration to say that they WILL die though.
No, they will die.
You are working on borrowed time, maybe you can keep it going by consistently taking it apart and applying new thermal paste but it's like life support.
Don't worry too much. A Phat just needs a bit more maintainance. Replacing the thermal paste is a good start, and use webman to manage the fan speeds.
My first phat model died 7 years ago. They are piss poorly designed and they simply won't last. As for all of you asking about superslims etc this exploit does work but will brick your device. The reason being is metldr2. This software prevents our patches on newer models. However given the exploit works with the needed privelage to make that patch and brick it means we simply need a payload for the exploit that instead of patching nor/nand instead just patches out security checks and returns to XMB it cab and will be done.
