That's very weird, since I haven't reported anything in the last few days. And I'm positive I reported these posts right away. But thanks for investigating, I appreciate it.
Hey!
I was the one who rejected the reports. The flame war one was by mistake, the piracy one wasn't. That was just a bad call from me.
I didn't realize at that time that you were part of the team, and only reported people for talking about piracy (which isn't against the forum rules). Didn't realize that you didn't want piracy talk in this thread since it wasn't mentioned in the OP.

Sorry about that!

The next time you report something, please write a little bit more like "We / the team don't want piracy talk in this thread" or something, that would be really helpful. Of course we should remove piracy talk if you don't want it here.

So no, the mods are neither lazy nor lenient... it was just me who goofed.

There's a difference between making a joke and being an ungrateful, entitled jerk. I'm not naming anyone here.

I never said this project is perfect, but I don't understand people complaining about it when we do it for free and don't owe anyone anything. And again, your ideas were neither new, good nor in time to be considered, as we are way beyond that stage (I explained that to you several times).

I don't mind people asking for it, but it's done when it's done and we'll tell you when we're ready to release it - so there's no real point in asking tbh...

Thanks for the support from the other people by the way, we really appreciate it and we hope to be able to deliver soon!
I'm not saying it about myself;
before I said I understood your position and I meant it. They weren't that good to begin with.
Just think you people should be a little bit calmer, nothing more. People will say stuff. Some you will not agree with. The important part is to be polite and keep your posture. People might think you're being kind of jerky otherwise. And don't use "I didn't mean it" as a excuse not to. I mean, I didn't mean to be rude before, but everyone thought I were. So I just stopped acting like that. You should do the same. Support is important and you don't want to lose it.

EDIT:
I never said this project is perfect, but I don't understand people complaining about it when we do it for free and don't owe anyone anything.
Indeed, but people are still counting on you to do your best job. Being free is not a excuse for being lazy.
Not saying you people are, just a general statement.
(As for the perfect thing, it's about the project fans, actually. Ended up not specifying enough)

Being free is not a excuse for being lazy.

I was just browsing the thread and saw your comment.
I have said this in quite a few translation threads already but people have lives. Some simply do this as a hobby and as such, even if they abandon the project, no one can blame them. If I do something for free, I sure as hell can take whatever pace I feel like it.

If people can't wait to play the game, they can just learn Japanese and play it as it is. I've been waiting for a few translations for over 8 years, they're being worked on, just at whatever pace the teams can and feel like it.

There's plenty of games already in English you can play right away.

What you said just complement what I said. Thanks, weather that was your intention or not.

Being free is not a excuse for being lazy.
If you want it done fast, do it yourself. You can complain about other people's so-called "laziness" when you've gained a comprehensive knowledge of Japanese and 3DS software hacking, and shown proof that your translation efforts are progressing at a faster clip than anyone else's.
Until then, shut up, sit down, and drink your goddamn tea quit being such an over-entitled jagoff.
End of story.

I didn't mean they are going slow because they are being lazy, or that they being slow is a bad thing.
All I'm saying is that doing something for free in no excuse for not doing it well. Please, don't put words into my mouth. I am actually FOR them taking their time. Look at my comments, not once did I tell them to go fast.

Jesus.
Hey asshole! Wanna join us or just keep complaining?
Join the team? I actually am interested in that.

The team hasn't even finished translating the game and you are implying they aren't "doing it well". What exactly is your problem? I'm confused on how you've come to the decision that the team is working poorly when we haven't even played the fan translation yet? All we know is that it's taking them time since it's a lot work to be done. They are doing it for free and really that's nice of them. They actually aren't obligated to do this at all, they chose to do it because they want to. I also find it interesting how you ask Uwabami to be a bit more calmer when all throughout this thread you've been speaking to people in a rude way. You may not notice, but the tone in your posts doesn't sound really friendly, and your "advice" really sounds bossy. You can't blame folks for not wanting to understand your perspective when your execution is so bad.

I think what they meant is that if you aren't going to translate a game well, then don't translate it at all, or that if you lose interest in translating a game, you shouldn't lazily rush through it just because you feel obligated to finish the project.

These are not my words, and they are just my interpretation, so Steve Doido could have meant something completely different.

Oh, FFS, I give up. My mouth is already full of the words you put in it.

You actually nailed that.

Oh, FFS, I give up. My mouth is already full of the words you put in it.
But my point is that some of your criticisms make it sound like your instigating. Also, what you're saying is going to understood by everyone in the exact same way. When you said, "Just because they're doing it for free, doesn't mean it it shouldn't be done well," it sounded like you were saying they weren't working on the project well. This is simply how you sounded to me. I mean, I don't think there is an evidence to support your assertion, but hey that's your opinion. *shrugs*

I've been nothing but nice to people who bothered to be polite. I don't see why I should suck up to people who behave like spoiled children - we're not selling anything and I think our work will speak for itself. And again: the majority of people are nice, polite and grateful in my experience - it's a (very vocal) minority that isn't.

Indeed, but people are still counting on you to do your best job. Being free is not a excuse for being lazy.

Others already pointed this out, but you do realize you come off as rude here, right?

No need for insults, L_Force.

Yes, my child?

Join the team? I actually am interested in that.
We're currently not recruiting, sorry.

You know, when you keep mentioning stuff like that I can't help but think you mean us, even when you say you don't. Why bring it up in the first place? I think we demonstrated how we're going to do things with the Demo, so there's no need to guess. And the use of the word "lazy" in a volunteer project people poured their heart and countless hours into doesn't sit well with me. I know you claim that you don't mean us, but when you keep bringing it up, I can't help but feel you do.

Again, I apologize if I came off as rude.
As for why, I don't know how well you are currently doing (will wait for the finished project first), but I trust it's good. I meant it to be a heads up, to help you avoid traps other groups fall into, and serve as a message for other people reading as well. It was not out of malicious intent. I tried to be helpful, but got misinterpreted along the way. I'm sorry.

Again, I am sorry. It's just that I want people to do their best all the time. Not to say they aren't (I think I'll have to put a disclaimer at every reply I make hehe).

Okay. I also apologize if I came off harsh.

I just really want to play this game and I was kinda worried that if people irritate the team too much they may just quit the project. I was really sad when I realized Capcom woudn't localize DGS so every couple of days I'd search info on an "english patch" or "DGS fanslation" you name it. Then, I found this project on GBATemp and I've been following it and its other threads for little over a year hoping it would come to life. I think we should just have faith in the team to complete the project the best they can.

I'm just commenting about the whole situation in general, I see people actually complaining about it in pretty much every translation I check. It's quite sad.

And yeah, one of my favourite translations groups just gave up translation all together due to comments like this. They were pretty cool too.

As far as I'm aware such projects as these are non-profit anyway so nobody gets to call anyone out for being "lazy" unless they're working with each other and unhappy with the balance of contribution or something.

These days it's just too easy to go "God damn lazy devs" when something isn't working to your anticipations as a gamer.
