If I was a programmer, I certainly would try to reverse engineer Gateway's code and rewrite it, and add it as some plugin to NTR CFW or other CFW projects.the *HAX payloads don't work.. well...
Anywhoooooo A9LH = Safe, unless it's Gateway
Pretty sure Custom Version String is something like you can put "Emu3 11.2.0-35" or something like that, as for a "fake" 11.2.0 I'm assuming you mean emunand? Can you use the Custom Version string in Luma to set up a fake 11.2.0-36 ????
Gateway doesn't seem worth it tbh ;cIf I was a programmer, I certainly would try to reverse engineer Gateway's code and rewrite it, and add it as some plugin to NTR CFW or other CFW projects.
I'm pretty sure the Gateway team always has isolated themselves from community development (due to it's closed-source nature). It's gonna take a few weeks or more before Gateway releases their update, compared to NTR CFW which has managed to release their update within a day or two.
Glad I didn't jump on the GW bandwagon ages ago. Thought it was silly to pay for a proprietary chip that would take ages to update. Just limped along with Sky3DS for a while and then lost my 3DS, found it again and installed ReiNAND, then after a bit I got tired of monkeying with it so I just switched to Luma...a couple months ago?Gateway doesn't seem worth it tbh ;c
That won't work, as the version has to match the NATIVE_FIRM version as well. If it doesn't, the system won't allow it to proceed any further in it's boot process. Can you use the Custom Version string in Luma to set up a fake 11.2.0-36 ????
what exactly did you mean by "run it when you're in Luma SysNand" ? I don't quite understand what you meant by that. (Disclosure: been using CFW for under a day )Google "NTR CFW", go to "releases" on github, download the newest one (2.5), and install it via FBI. Run it when you're in Luma SysNand and you'll be set to go. Make sure you run the 3.4 option in the Selector.
Hmm I'm connected properly... it downloads to 99% and when it tries to install, the error appears. Tried it twice, same thing happened. I manually downloaded the update from eshop. For now, I just cancelled the update and proceed to launch the game fine.So you're getting "Error Code 003-4099" when trying to update, are you updating games themselves or the firmware or what?
That Error Code is for being unable to connect to the internet, a quick google found that. Make sure you're connected properly?
What I mean is, verify in the system settings that you're running Luma. It should say "Sys 11.2.0-35" if you are, or just "11.2.0-35" if not. When you're in Luma for sure, run the FBI CIA to install the BootNTR Selector (as the CIA has full administrative abilities, where the one in homebrew only has userland abilities and can install legit CIAs only). After you launch into BootNTR choose the 3.4 version to get the most updated form of it. It'll have things like Preview 3 running where as 3.2 I think still runs Preview 2.what exactly did you mean by "run it when you're in Luma SysNand" ? I don't quite understand what you meant by that. That is most bizzare. Try installing FreeShop if you haven't already, then try updating through FreeShop (the SNES controller and ! next to the game in question) let me know if that works. I'm quite interested in finding out the cause of this.Hmm I'm connected properly... it downloads to 99% and when it tries to install, the error appears. Tried it twice, same thing happened. is this the latest? https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases it says NTR CFW 3.4 Preview4. don't know if this is it cuz I remember you saying something about 2.5 or something along those linesWhat I mean is, verify in the system settings that you're running Luma. There are two different versions, 2.5 is the version number and is what is needed to run on 11.3 while 3.2 through 3.4 are different releases and have different things integrated into them. The link with 3.4 Preview 4 is the top one, so that's the most recent one. Install the CIA and launch the BootNTR Selector, if it launches with a version other than 2.5 in the corner restart the app holding X and it should update. I know it's confusing. If you don't have BootNTR Selector you can download it here. It's weird as freeshop doesn't show any updates. Seems like it's all updated. What I mean is, verify in the system settings that you're running Luma. https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_FlawsHow does safehax work anyway? Never understood...
3DS has like 10 games coming out soon + more to be announced (according to reggie)Nintendo just won't give up on the 3DS, even when the Switch is on the way...
