without a touchscreen how do you actually use a browser? it's a pain to use the joysticks to type...
but probably there will be released a keyboard later or we can use a usb\bluethoot keyboard
Maybe Nintendo will have an app so we can use our smartphones/tablets as a second touchscreen for games.

That D-pad bugs the shit out of me. I understand it's necessary for the 2D paddles, which I don't think look great anyway, but God damn it's going to be uncomfortable.

I prefer a "classic" home console.

Switch is good as a portable system, not for home.

I wanted a console similar to PS4 or XONE but with WiiUGamepad and Wiimotes support

I want a Nintendo machine with real 3rd Party support

I don't like that default D-pad either.
Overall machine looks very prototype like, I have a feeling it'll look a little different when its out or I at least hope.
The pro controller looks fairly standard too.
I really need to see more of it and the machine in action with some price points before I can really get interested in it.

It's a nice idea but eh, it could some things like a grib on the top or a screen cover.
Also weird how the dock covers the screen, I mean, it really doesn't need to but I guess thats to distance itself from the Wii U.

Eh I just gotta see more about how it operates and see it action with a running system, theres just too much that hasn't been said or shown.

Pro controller looks fairly standard because its the damn Amazon Fire TV controller

I'm just not happy with this console and if there is no touch and motion I REALLY wont be happy. It seems kinda stupid to have zero touch capabilities for something that is SUPPOSED TO BE a damn TABLET! Why even call it a tablet, you might as well just call it a "screen console". The word "Tablet" implies some sort of touch capability.

They HAVEN'T called it a tablet, as a matter of fact they've been taking great care to just refer to it as the "Switch console"

Heh, ya it looks very close but the Switch Pro has a better D-pad for one and I bet no analog triggers but I guess they could bring those back.
Hoping it has some nice motion controls too since if they make a Splatoon 2 I'd want some motion controls for fine aiming. It just worked well.

Rumor has it they wanted something more like a smart phone or tablet so touch controls seem likely though they were not shown.
I'm pretty sure it'll have touch controls and could hopefully operate without the control pads.
Just hope we don't get too many touch only games.
Hope the screen protectors will be good touch screen or not.

I'm not THAT interested at it.
I wasn't even interested in the Wii U.
Mainly, because both wants to simulate a tablet like device. And i didn't like that, because Nintendo made their consoles look like toys.
With Wii U... I've always looked at it as if it were an Oversized DS.
And the Switch is just an Oversized Smartphone.

Don't know what's this new Nintendo trend, that they decide to appeal more kids with their designs... but for veteran players like myself (Started with the NES) it just doesn't fit...
I got so used to get and see CONSOLES and not just another device that can play games.

Also, as Nintendo tends to do, this wouldn't surprise me.
I mean, that Nintendo will release a "Newer and more powerful with bigger screens and a redesigned control"... you know... like: DS-DS Lite, DSi-DSi XL, 3DS-3DS XL, New 3DS-New 3DS XL, Nintendo Switch-New Nintendo Switch XL... Tournament Championship Alpha Zero Omega Limited Edition 2.0
As far as we know, Switch will not have a touchscreen (thank god). It's just a straight-up hybrid console with a traditional controller (that can function as two controllers). I don't think screen size is going to be an issue for the first iteration, either, the screen looks far larger than even a 3DS XL, and it can output to any other screen as well.

I know you unnecessarily hate touchscreens, but it hasn't been confirmed one way or another and honestly, I'm betting on that it does.

Honestly if you really want that, best get a PC, the PS4 and Xbox One are redundant, as all hell, Nintendo at least changes up the game, it's still a good console system as shown, but just with the option to go portable, which honestly the PS4, and Xbox One lack, and because of this they just seem like mediocre PCs with horrible restrictions on them, which need exclusives to justify their existence.

I'm thinking it's highly unlikely because they wouldn't want to split functionality between the mobile experience and the docked experience. And WiiU already proved that people aren't interested in having a touchscreen in front of them while playing primarily on a larger screen. You engage people by making games engaging, not by splitting focus. Even Nintendo I think is unlikely to repeat the exact same mistake twice in a row.

The Switch looks really fun and interesting. I'll get one as close to launch as possible to ensure a low firmware for greatest chance of future hax. But so far I haven't seen any compelling reason not to immediately disconnect it from the Internet after setup and squirrel it away in the closet.

A new Mario, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, and Skyrim port are not enough to make me want to play it, especially online.

I'm thinking in a sale point of view, and market point of view. Like I think of wii U, its a great crap with a great libraby of magnum opus, just because...Nintendo made games.

Its a very good concept. But I think it will fail in sales as the wii U failed. Only the dedicated nintendofans will buy. Its not any near the innovation of the Wii.

as showed:
ITEM 1: A handheld device thats also play on the big screen.
ITEM 2: Have (alleged) console power.

-For casual players, aka android and ios players, their smartphones can be hooked/streamed to tv in a lot of ways), so item 1 is obsolete.
-They dont have interest in console power (as the wii proved, and the flappy bird number of downloads), so item 2 is obsolete.

Casual Players will never see this console as innovative as the wii was (for 2006), or the ds was (for 2004), or smartphone (the way we know now, are). "New way to play", "newcomers in gaming" dont ever will be things made by this "console/handheld".So, this is an already lost public in my opinion.

See that:

-In 2007: You could play your PSP on the tv with component cables WITHOUT ADDITIONAL HARDWARE.
-In 2003: You could play your GBA in your NGC.
-In 1994: you could play your GB games on your SNES.

Being so, where is the real innovation of Switch? There are none, at least none expressive enough to overcome the fail of image the image wii U have in the grat public.

The hardcore gaming community on nintendo will, once again be exclusively composed by the most dedicated old days nintendo fans like me.

The only way to approache the GREAT hardcore gaming community to N.Switch would be providing great console power, wich the most of us already accepted, it wont be. We can foresee that just by seeing the size of the device, and by the fact that Nintendo didnt showed its technical power: If it were strong (as ps4 pro or scorpio will be), they would have revealed.

I dont see problem in a weak device, with great games (as nintendo almost always seems to be). I will buy of course, I love nintendo. But i dont see a problem in a strong device too... Why can't we have both nintendo games and strong devices? I think nintendo should abandon hardware, and be like sega: just make games!!! (Actually, i think games in general should be unified, like this concept handheld/console, but to PC too. Any game, on any device you have. Exclusivity in softwares should be forever forbidden!)
Inovation in hardware can be applied too, on thing never excludes the other

It's using a custom Tegra chip, probably closer in power to Tegra X2 than Tegra X1, and Tegra X1 will play a lot of modern games in 1080p@60. Nobody needs more than that out of a Nintendo console, or any other console as a matter of fact. I see Nintendo making the smarter business move this generation, as most people still don't own 4K displays, and the ones that do would be better off going with a PC for 4K@60 rather than the 15 FPS you'll likely often get running 4K on Pro/Scorpio.
