Would you guys possibly be open to giving us an update on how things are going? There are two reasons I ask. The first being it's been about a month since your last update, and I'm really eager to see how far along you've gotten. Secondly.. I've just gotten into the Ace Attorney games somewhat recently, and just started Dual Destinies last night. While I'm currently absolutely enjoying every thing about this (the characters in 3D, WOO!), I can't help but frown thinking this is the last game in the series! (If you exclude the crossover with layton, which I'll still play but.. yanno.. It's not the same)

Anywho.. I can't help but think this won't be ready before the new game comes out in September, but that's still fine! As long as all us fans get our hands on it at some point! Anyway.. Thank you all very much for working hard on this, and I hope to hear some encouraging news from you all soon!! ^_^
We have a good chunk of the first case done. Just need to import more text, fix tuts yada yada. It's going fine.

I have a question: How are you going about the text scrolling and sound in the game? AAI2's team had to come up with an original solution to make the text-bleeps and pace change properly when switching from japanese letters to a western alphabet. In the official games I think there's is one bleep per second letter or something but in AAI2 I think they made it so 3 letters counted as one symbol or something weird but the end result made the sounds less organic and more like "Beep, beep, beep, beep" rather than the usual "Blippedy-blippedy, bleep, bleep" and the pacing was rather lethargic at times whereas it's often super fast in the official games. PLvPWAA's official translation was also super inconsistent for some reason.

The bleeping is just fine... Do not worry about the bleeping...

Good news! :D Odd question, but will it go by faster as you get more done? By that I mean, can you use what you've previously done in later episodes to help speed things along?

Side note, I'm just now finishing the DLC for Dual Destinies. When I first posted that, I had only played the first 3 AA games and the Miles investigations. Anyway, my point is now that I've played Dual Destinies, I can see there it would take A LOT more work than I originally thought. A lot of 3D objects with text for example. I'm sure that's tough as heck.

side side note. Think I may just hire all you guys to come to my place and each just translate over my shoulder a different character as I play the japanese version! Problem solved!

Thank you for taking time to translating this game. It's quite unfortunate that Capcom don't plan to release this overseas. :(
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. C:

Dude, Spirit of Justice - the Dual Destinies sequel - is officially coming out this September. You have a whole new game after DD you're going to play before you'll run out of Ace Attorney until these guys release their first patch for DGS.

Hrmm.. I feel like you didn't pay attention to everything I wrote in that post. I even mentioned Spirit of justice and the fact that it's coming out in September. Right now I'm at the very end of AA vs PL. After this last piece, I'll have no AA games until Spirit of Justice comes out sometime in Sept.

EDIT: By the way, Sept is next month, so why isn't there an actual date set for the release yet? Would like to know whether it's coming on, say, Sept 1 or Sept 28th or something. There's the range of the entire month. Coming this close to release, you'd think they'd settle on an actual date. Makes me worry about delays.

Because there are a lot if personal factors involved, so we cannot be sure when we will finish. Sit down and wait like a good little boy.

Or simply learn Japanese? That's what I'm doing anyway with lessons. xD

Translating Japanese to English is more of an interpretation than anything else, which also makes this rather difficult

Yeah, I can see why. The only reason why I'm learning Japanese is to make everything easier for me since I can just play the games in Japanese. lol

If you guys need anyone else to create translated graphics, I could try my hand at it. I'd like to think I have at least some skill at graphic design.

Thing is, I can't read Japanese, so if someone was able to send me the original art, followed by what it should say when translated, I'd love to give it a shot if that's acceptable!

Personally I think we have enough graphic editors as it is, but that's just me. You're free to discuss with xz of course.
