So we shouldn't sign up just because it will "affect" your chances at getting in? This thread is a joke.

Oh no, I've already gotten in. I'm talking about other developers getting in.
I'm just saying that, if you are only going to sign up for dev tools for hacking purposes (as some people do), then don't sign up.
If you're interested in development, then go for it, I say! :)

I'd like to know a few things about the dev program.

1. Can you release 3DS games without dev hardware, and has anyone tried and gotten lack of hardware as the rejection reason?

2. Can you release a game just having a Panda console (about $250) instead of a SNAKE for like $2000?

3. How do you get paid once your game is on the eShop and people buy it?

I can answer question 3 for sure. You get paid 70% of sales.
Oh that's pretty good. I wonder what will happen when the first person releases a game to the 3DS eShop and people start pirating it using freeShop. I wonder if Nintendo's idea is for us to get a taste of our own medicine :-)

I would also like a more concrete answer on what hardware nintendo requires we have. I'm trying to learn unity with the hopes of making a full metroidvania title for 3ds eshop. If it turns out we really do need a $2000 system I might try a crowd fund after I have a fully working game to show off asking for money to "test it on 3ds" for a release.

I "shrekt" my chance to contribute or make homebrew from the SDK.
Nope... You signed an NDA. As soon as you signed that NDA you said that you won't release any homebrew using Nintendo information, so as soon as you signed into the dev portal you shrekt your chance

You can probably use a leaked DEV firmware on a a9lh 3ds

I was part of the WarioWorld community in 2013, so I already had full access to everything big Developers had.
I just think they should re-introduce this approach again, it won't end well for the future of Nintendo, otherwise.

I mean, back in 2013:
1. We had to wait 2 weeks.
2. We had to have a Phone Interview.
3. We had to show proof we had prior experience.
4. We had to proof our workspace was secure.
5. We had to have an own Domain Name.
6. We had to take distance from ROM Hacking, Homebrew, etc.

It did make it hard to get inside, but at least, you knew for sure that quality would remain high, and that whatever was confidential could be kept confidential.
Nintendo has become the new Google Play Store now, which is so saddening!

And what's exactly the point of this thread? I know it's to get others to not sign up because it hurts real developers, but seriously though, this is...rather pointless. Its THE INTERNET. People could care less about what others want to do, and those that do care are a very small minority.

On that thought you should try Game Maker. Maybe you should pick that up, since you can virtually do everything that RPG Maker can do.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
