Hey Gang,

Can anyone post or PM me with GOOD/WORKING Usenet servers please? I'm trying to use NewsLeecher to get to alt.bin.games.nintendo.wii but I'm not having any luck with finding them with the Time Warner newsgroup server.

Thanx In Advance!!!

EDIT: I also searched other threads for this info but could not find any. I also did see any rules against asking for Usenet servers...

If you're after a free Usenet server you aren't going to have much luck unfortunately =( They rarely rarely have binaries. You could try taking a free trial with some of the premium servers. I know that usenext has a fairly decent trial.

I used the servers of my ISP, but they were very slow. Since a few weeks I have a 20mbit internet connection and now I use a dutch pay newsserver. These pay servers are really great!! Don't go for free ones, just pay a 6-10 $ a month.

I recently got a new isp that has a news server available. Is there a good free usenet client for downloading binaries? All the one's I've found so far are "n-day trial" versions.

http://news.astraweb.com - They provide a pay-by-download system where you only pre-pay for bandwidth. I find that this is best for me as I only sporadically get stuff opposed to consistently every month. I think they have a special right now, $25 for 90GB.

I also use Pan for my client.

www.UseNeXT.com is the best I reckon. They provide all the software and it is all automated, anonymous and easy to use.
I suppose it works out at about £5 to download 20Gigabytes so thats about £1 per iso. EVERYTHING you could want is on usenext and you can access the servers at your full bandwidth. Its awesome! Beware tho crappy ISPs like tiscali et al who use traffic shaping and "fair use policys" block access to the usenet.

After searching this forum (now it might be in archived forum), I hesitated with usenetserver.com and giganews.com
they are both offering different price/time or price/content.
I finally chose usenetserver.com with full illimited access per/month.

edit :
usenetserver has anonymous and ssl access, with retention >100 days.
(like almost big usenet compagny now)
