They might. They released Sky3DS+ on 01/12/15 and they released a template file for the blue button card on 04/12/15. Though I can't be sure of the future.
They said they will continue releasing templates. Though I doubt we will see too many new games without AP check.

You can't run 4GB full dump ROMs because FAT32 won't allow 4GB files.
However, as removing one byte is sufficient to store the dump on FAT32, you can run 4GB trimmed ROMs.

Soooo trimmed ROMs are out there as opposed to the full? I know you can't post links, I just want to know if both "versions" exist for games supposedly over 4 GBs.

How are we going to inject private headers into the roms, and more importantly, will our saves transfer?? I don't want to lose hours and hours of AC:NL and Pokemon.

The main reason for me buying one would be for my wife and I to play simultaneously and play online together. (Right now we are just sharing my blue button.)

That's a thing!?! Damn, I have to read up on my SKY3DS+... I'm scared to death at all of the things people keep bringing up.

I guess Gateway ROM Patcher will be a thing more often now since we will need to patch in our private headers now. However no more needing to mod templates... (Looks at SSB)

Oh c'mon! Isn't the whole point of having SKY3DS that you don't have/can't use Gateway? Or can anyone use Gateway ROM Patcher. Not that I have the first clue about how. So there won't be No Ban No Sky to do this anymore? There's still a bin file, no?

Gateway ROM Patcher can be used by anyone. It is just a tool to patch the rom headers. No Ban No Sky will likely be obsolete for Sky3DS+ since templates are not likely to be used anymore.

EDIT: Actually there is a gamelist database that gets put on the card but I have no idea what data is in that file or in what format. Maybe it will just be standard sqlite...

The gamelist file contain template data, but if you want you can define a specific game to read data from cfg file. After you set that setting you should play and save this game in 3ds and a cfg file would be created in microsd card. This file contain header data.

Likely the cart will not take headers data containes in ROM files, it will override headers data (CART_ID,FLASH_ID) contained in ROM files :
- with values stored in Sky3DS gamelist.bin if no <GAMEID>.CFG file found
- with values stored in <GAMEID>.CFG if file found

So Gateway ROM Patcher will just help you to get proper (CART_ID,FLASH_ID) values, but will not help to store hearders data in ROM Files (so probably Sky3DS will not manage .3dz files)


What we need to know is the .CFG file name, probably it will use GAMEID so that we can create the file before playing with it.

Note: A settings.txt file and other .sav files will be built in your microSD card once start to play
games, open the settings.txt, set the CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS = 1(default 0, can change
it anytime later) and save it, a .CFG file will be created in your microSD card after a game has
been played, it includes the specific info for that game(CART_ID,FLASH_ID...), you can build
you own .CFG file for playing a new game(or an online game) later if you know how to get those
info properly, which means you don't have to wait for the updated gamelist.bin file by our site,
the .CFG file has a higher priority than a gamelist.bin file.

Or simpler, it may be something like that:
filename.3DS
filename.cfg

It would be easier to manager than GAMEID :lol:

Header will be needed BUT we may think that you'll just have to put it in the cfg file, not in the 3DS file.

EDIT: You're right about simplicity but they got rid of the DiskWritter after all so.. Let's hope!

"Simpler" is not a way that we are accustomed to from Sky3DS team (remember 10 games limit, Diskwriter, templates files, ...).

See but I saw DiskWriter as simpler. User friendly face and all. And templates you just download and import with the click of a button. Drag and drop will be easier in that regard, but I'm more concerned about the header situation. Someone did it for me. Now I have a bin file with a header and... that's it.

You'll have to understand how headers work.
Gateway ROM patcher will help you to get proper (CART_ID,FLASH_ID) values.
Then you'll have to put them in <GAME>.cfg file.
No need to insert them in ROM because Sky3DS card will not handle headers in ROM file, only in .CFG file : unfortunately they did not choose the Gateway .3dz way.

One more proof "simpler" is not for Sky3DS , but maybe they did not have the choice because of the way this card works (emulating real card).

Worth a new exploitable 3ds play this game as cia, and gateway decrypted rom and sky3ds+ and eshop copy and retail copy as a backup.
How I waited to play this game in blue button and now I feel betrayed.
