ROM Hack [WIP] MHX Translation Patch (ENG)

I am really sorry guys if I seem out of place, but I never tried anything related to 3DS hack and I am a bit confused here with all the information about the tubehack, ironhack, and other things... My current setup is a European New 3DSXL in 10.2 firmware, with no prior hacking installation on it. I ordered a new Sky3DS (blue button) and I got earlier a 2.0 patched .CIA version of the game. Is there any way for me, in my current situation, that I can play it? I read on this post that the game seems to have some sort of Anti Piracy protection, so does that mean that my Sky3DS won't go through it? And if not, is there another way that I can still install an hack/buy a cartridge version of the game and play it zone free/patch-translated? (Didn't buy the game yet cause I was afraid of the possibility of not being able to launch it)

Wait, seeing the OP, MHX doesn't work with HANS at all or just the patch? I'm still waiting for my copy to come in the mail from PlayAsia, though I wish they had shipped it sooner to get it on release day.

I have a EU N3DS XL (9.9, ironhax) and a Sky3ds (bluebutton) too. The game will not run with a SKY3DS (blue button) as it has the AP (anti piracy) check and blocks SKY3DS flash cart.

You cannot use the cia file with your firmware version (only 9.0 till 9.2 for N3DS).

If you have the sky 3ds cart, put cubic ninja on it (for region free), and import the game. And hope HANS will be able to patch the game in future. Regionfree launcher can launch the game, as users in this thread reported. If possible, cancel your SKY3DS (blue button) order and get the SKY3DS+.

Using the cia files seems to be the easiest way, but you need a 3DS with CFW (custom firmware). And this is only possible with 9.0 till 9.2 with New 3DS as mentioned above.

I am in neraly the same situation. So importing the game is a possibility, or getting a N3DS with 9.0 or 9.2 and install CFW on it. I am not buying the SKY3DS+.

Why isn't Nintendo/Capcom allowing us to buy the game and load a language patch file? No work for them as the community makes the translation.
How it is now, they seem to force us to get a CFW 3DS.

I think there will be a Monster hunter X cross G next year. They sell this like crazy in japan. They would be stupid if they dont. Western release in 1,5 years if we are lucky.

Found a bug/glitch!
Editing 'Chat' shortcut "Thanks for hunting!" in Panel 1, "I'll try to mount it!" in Panel 2 and "I'll change equipment." in Panel 3 will crash the game. I believe this happens because it only allows 15 characters as the limit.

Just a quick question before i play my MHX, i got the patched iso from the other site.
I would be putting my own header and trying to play online with it but what would happen if there is another patch? (what would happen to my save file and how to back that over specifically)

Missing Update could prevent online gaming until you install it.

Thanks for all your explanations. I will abuse a little more of your time, if it is okay with you. I dug a little deeper since my post, and I've found new elements, you tell me if it makes sense, or if it brings something new you didn't know. I cannot cancel my order unfortunately, as the Sky3DS comes from HK and it is already in France. Knowing the e-merchants there, they wont even answer my mails. What I saw, on the other hand, is the fact that you are still able to do Ninjhax in 10.2 firmware with the current blue button Sky3DS, by using the exploit with a cartdrige or .cia version of the game. Since you can use the hax, in version 2.5, which bypasses the new AP check, you should be able to launch the game, shouldn't you?

No i don't think it will work since there is no template and won't recognized in your 3ds. Hans can't start the game and you won't have translations.

Ok thanks, so the schedule is, trying to get refunded on my order (can forget about that one, HK reseller), order the Sky3DS+, and finish my G3 rank in MH4U during this time

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding this patch.
I have a N3DS (10.3) running a OOTHax and just ordered the game, I know i can't run the patch with my setup since HANS doesn't work with it but does Sky3DS+ would allow me to run it?

Sky3DS+ bypasses the new AP check, so you should be fine to launch .cia modified files, so yes

No cia support for beyond 9.2.0 consoles. Sky3DS+ will only allow to start MHX and since Hans is not working, no translation until it gets fixed (maybe never).

I think he meant "modified .3ds files", not "modified .cia files". If Sky3DS+ allows to start a modified MHX, then you can play a translation with that.

Do i use A or B method?

Tbh I'm a big noob and don't know the difference between .3ds and .cia.
Here is the setup in which i will be :

N3DS in 10.3 with OOThax
Physical cartridge of Monster Hunter X
Sky3DS+ (need to buy it)

And ideally I'd want to play MHX in english with the ability to play online. (without getting banned)

If it's not possible, is there a way to get the translation in a html format?
For example a menu with Quest-> One star -> Slay X , or just a transcript of this translation.

As Sky3DS didn't support modified games, + won't support it too since it breaks game cryption.

Depends on you for other games. As for MHX you only need SaveDataFiler to export/import your save.

Sorry, I didn't get that Sky3DS runs .3DS and not .cia (just two different file types). So if you gave a translated .3DS with Sky3DS+, no problem right?

edit: sorry didn't see your answer. So no solutions for us right now...
